Quad speaker setup not working

My sound card is configured through Windows to utilise 4 speakers. X2 doesn't want to use it.. and is defaulting to a 2-speaker setup

am i missed some options somewhere?

From what I can tell... no... my quads work fine... are you set up in windows for all 4 for SURE? Secondly... how about latest directx? Latest version?

I'm sure somebody posted a similar issue in the X2 spoiler forum and came to the conclusion that it was a bug in the latest nVidia SoundStorm drivers--no idea if you're having the same issue, though.

yes im sure i have them setup.

They work in every other application and game.

It's set to quad in both windows and the driver setup.

Im running latest drivers for everything

I have a Sound Max card (onboard for Intel)
