X2 : the FPS don't make any sense, please help

Post by Xion » Mon, 1. Dec 03, 15:00

I ran the full game benchmark , and you can see the results below , i got average of 28FPS , and im very pleased with that. But when i start the game , the scenes in the city barely even play, i don't see movement, i just see different immages :S , its THAT slow. The scenes with characters in it , i don't get more than 2FPS on them! And after the convo with Ban , when i leave the Argon One, the image barely renders.
I don't realise how the Benchmark can give 28FPS, but the game no more than probably 5-10FPS . I have the newest drivers, and i made sure no programs are running in the background , please help :(
My Pc:
PIII - 800Mhz
256MB SdRam
GeForce 2MX/400 32MB
WinXP
AC97' Soundcard(integrated into the motheboard)
Yea yea, i know , my pc sucks, it barely meets the minimum requirements, but still , why do i barely get any FPS in the game ,and get 28 on benchmark?

Well, it seems to be the current mumurings that the actual campaign scripts are taking up a fair amount of cpu. Even people getting 70fps+ are getting some problems with the game. Unfortunately, there's not much the rest of us users can really do about it, so I'm afraid you can only wait to see if future patches improve the situation. Until then, check the current threads out and see if there's anything these to help alleviate the problem.

Oh, and btw, integrated soundcards use up cpu time as well, you might get a small boost from buying a good sound card. tbh, tho, you're looking more at a main system upgrade (CPU/mboard/RAM/GFX/Sound).
