HQ Construction chart

Earlier today i decided i could do with a chart of all what resources the HQ needs to contruct each type of ship, and how long the contruction takes. Unfortunately I can't find one, so i suspect noone has done one yet plus most of us don't have time to do that. So until someone digs the values out of the game itself why not start the chart here?
I'll list all the ships i've reverse engineered so far. If everyone else does the same, we should hopefully soon build up a fairly comprehensive list.

Yeah, good idea. When its all done, someone should host it as a spreadsheet and it can be added to the guide.

I notice everyone saying that the Pirate Nova Raiders hold 3 * 25Mj Shields but I'venoticed in my game that the normal Nova Raiders although their specs stat that they are only suppose to hold 2 actually hold 3

Yes, this is an old issue, it was accidentally holding 3 due to an earlier patch, the pirate nova raider, I beieve, is supposed to hold 3, but the Argon Nova Raider has now been 'fixed' int he latest patch and can only hold 2.

It should be possible to calculate the costs for any ship, since the resource requirements are all based on a common factor - probably the price of the ship.

The time taken is slightly more complex as it's also based on the class of the ship being built.

This in mind, it's probably easier to confirm whether it *is* price that is the factor, and then a spreadsheet could be used to calculate the requirements for any ship.

Oh, I had these nova's pre patch so I guess any I buy or build now will have 2 * 25Mj

edit: re-wrote this post completely

Looking at this:

Credits = 8 * (shipyard price for stripped down ship) / Class
where Class is 12 for M5, 15 for M4, 20 for M3 and 30 for M6.

and

ECells = INT(Credits / 295)
Ore = INT(Credits / 24 / 295)
Teladianium & Silicon = INT(Credits / 32 / 295)
Rastar & Chips = INT(Credits / 48 / 295 )
Rimes & Crystals & QTubes & Comp = INT(Credits / 96 / 295)


and

Prod.Time (seconds) = Credits / (4.62 x Class)
... to within 0.1% error,

so I think all you need is the shipyard price of the (stripped down) ship.

EDIT: It looks like you need Nividium to produce Khaak ships, bu t how much?

SO, from what I'm seeing, it's the same set of resources for each ship, just varying amounts?

I bet the game uses RelValue, since the price should be function of that too.

And RelValue for normal ware is production time in seconds. How about ships?

My question is, what are the repair costs, and how they compare to the shipyard pricing?

BTW, a thread in the German Forum has already a longer list of observations, but haven't checked if they have figured out the equations yet, like Dave has. Lets beat them! :wink:

Yep, I'm just correlating (I sound like a StarTrek computer!)
NPC RelVal is proportional to the 'stripped ship price' (selling price that is).

I could put out a provisional spreadsheet, but there's the question of
how much Nividium is needed for Kha'ak ships.

Also there's some 'special' values for Argon M1/M2, which I could plumb-in.
(strange that only some Argon ships have incongruities, this is similar to
the hardcoded? extra steering performance of a Vanilla Discoverer compared
to it's stated game-file values).

+ I didn't want to stop this thread from expanding, by prematurely shoving
out a 'solution' - it's up to Nyax really, it's his thread.

The nividium cost for khaak ships should be INT(Credits/192/295) using your notation. I haven't got a khaak ship to check it with though, so this needs confirmation. (If I get time later I'll script myself a couple...)

Is that figure from the German thread?, I haven't seen anybody show
values for khaak ships on this forum.

+ does a requirement for nividium mean something else (eg ore?) is not needed ?

+ I don't know what the 'Class' value would be for M1 & M2

Nope - I was looking at the type file for the HQ. All the factors are in there, but it doesn't show what equations it uses. The factor for nividium is double that for quantum tubes and crystals, hence...

The nividium appears to be an additional requirement rather than a replacement.

:EDIT2: Bigship covers M6, M2, M1, TL, and presumably M7.

This is accurate for resources/credits/time required,
and for profits (and/or savings) made from building ships.

You can now specify if you built your HQ in 2.0.01 or 2.0.02, since
this drastically affects the amount of Microchips needed for ship building.

esd : it looks like you can make money, but not a great deal,
in fact I think Titan & Collosus would make a stonking loss, cos the in-game
selling prices for these are only ~60% of the calculated value
- I'll update these two tomorrow (later today).

It really needs someone to make a TS or TP & post the figures as in
the first post, to check one of the values that I have assumed.

Good, thanks, I assumed the right figure (5 for Class Val 2 for TS/TP).

I forgot to put INT() round all the numbers so
eg Mercury Rastar oil currenly reads 4 (actually 3.6) not the correct 3 .

There appears to be some rounding errors, making eg Dragon cost
644,287 credits, rather than the correct 644,261 credits, not sure
why.

Anyway better zoom off to work now..
