Jumpdrive Problem X3

Hi all, In X3 I have equipped 2 ships with a jump drive but can't seem to find how to instruct them to use it. I'm ok using the jumpdrive on my ship. The other ships are a Buster and Buster Sentinel. I could do it in X2 no probs. Can you even do it in X3?

You must have all the navigation software installed.

I've got the Navigation Command Software Mk 1 which is all I have in my Mercury. The Mercury ok but the Buster Sentinel still won't use jumpdrive unless I'm in it.

To get another ship (i.e. one you are not flying) to jump you need to have Nav software Mk2 installed. You dont need it for the ship you are flying to use the jumpdrive.

I didn't know there was a Nav Com Mk2? Is this new for the latest patch? It used to be, you needed a jumpdrive, nav com, and ecells, and your ship, or an NPC ship you owned, could jump.

Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure there is a nav com mk2 software upgrade, but it's been a while since I've bought anything like that for a ship (stopped expanding my fleet), and if so it has been there since v1.2.

Either way you definately need AN upgrade before you can command a ship you are NOT flying yourself to jump. Go to Terracorp HQ in Home of Light they sell everything and buy the available nav com softwares one at a time on your remote ship until you have the ability to make it jump, and then you'll know which upgrade you need, then you can possibly reload before buying all that stuff so you don't waste money on things you didn't need.

Thanks guys found it, it's the Special Command Software Mk I that is needed. Glad I found that it was getting very frustrating
