* Improved patrol leader going through gate, less fails, now based on time
* Patrol Leader will stop and wait for you to come through the gate behind him
* Patrol Leader will stop and regroup of any excorts start lagging behind (including you)
* After attack finishes, patrol leader will wait and regroup escorts
* Patrol Leader will detect and attack any other enemy ships within range not just ones created for the mission, doesn't include larger ships (m1/2)
* Some other small improvements to the mission
* Added miltary shipyards for higher frequency of missions, plus ships for sale at higher ranks

V1.03
* Some minor fixes to patrol mission

V1.02
* Improved patrol leading moving through sectors

Join the military and take on missions for the different races to earn money and notority.

1. Enlisting

To join the military, you need to find the applications on the BBS, there is a one of fee to pay to join.
You will also need the police licence for the race you want to join the military with.
The applications will only show up if you currently have the police licence.
Once you have paid the fee and join, you will be able to find missions available from the BBS

2. Military Status

In your ships additional command slots, you will find the view military status command.
This will display the current status with all militarys, as well as your rank and experience points.
Completing missions will earn you experience points to gain you promotion.
Higher ranks will have harder, and better paid jobs available.

3. Black marks

If you commit a bad act against the military, ie, shooting at one of your patrol escorts, you will get a black mark on your record.
After getting 3 blackmarks you will be suspended from active duty for 12 game hours.
During this time you will not be able to get any missions from the BBS.
After getting 5 black marks you will be dismissed from the military.

4. Dismissal

Commiting really bad acts, like killing your patrol leader, or collecting 5 black marks will get you dismissed from the military.
Once dismessed, you have to re apply to get back in. The applications to rejoin will be more rare and will cost alot more for you to rejoin.

5. Missions Available

Patrol:
Available from rank: Cadet
Join up with a patrol and kill enemies in the races terrorities.
Upon accepting, you will have to fly to you target sector and meet up with the patrol leader, once there, you have to follow the leader throught the patrol.
During the patrol, you will most likly encounter enemy attacks, you must destroy the enemy and not let your patrol leader die.
Once reaching the end of you patrol, you will be paid and earn experience points. You will also get a slight boost in notority.

6. Missions for Next Version

Solo Patrol:
You have given a list of sectors, and you must travel to each one and clear out all enemy activity b4fore moving onto the next.

Patrol Leader:
Like the patrol mission, but you will be the leader and you will have a few escorts to help you. This will only be available at higher ranks.

Nice. So to get in the race military for all races you have to join 5 times (each race) and they are rankd seperately?

Oh, and an idea might be to be part of a strike/raiding force (against xenon sectors, or Khaak if they have the co-ords).

yep, each race hos thier own military, and you can choose which ones you join, and have ranks in each of the militaries

there will most likly be plnety of differnet missions added in the future ;)

It seems I am already a member of the argon military upon load. While browsing the first batch of BBS offers I noticed a military mission already, is this normal?

withar: well i plan to add quite alot of missions avaialble, some of them like sector takeovers and such, maybe i could also create wars for you to take sides in.

Im also going to add a yaki military you can join to take on various pirate missions.

A dJ: Nope, you shouldn't already be a member of the military, you can check by using the view military status command, it will display what militaries you have joined. The mission currently avaialble is the patrol mission

Excellent work! I've just done the patrol mission and it was great.

Couple of points, the escort mission was for the Argon military but the patrol consisted of seemingly random ships from all the races. It just looks a little strange since the existing Argon military uses its own races ships.

Secondly, and more a suggestion for a polishing stage; it would be nice to include things like comm chatter from your fellow pilots to add immersion.

i was thinking of that, i think it would be pretty cool to have audio chatter for the missions, but it means actaully creating these sound files :P

the ships are random, but are biased towards the race, so for the argon military, they will mainly use argon ships, but sometimes use others as well, i've done one mission where they were all using different ships, but then i've done several other missions where it was just novas, usually theres alot more chance of it being the races own ships.

the same is true for the yaki attackers, they usually use there own ships, but will sometimes use other random ones

Loving the script, though already have one black mark, today I learn the true meaning of "friendly fire", ahrr well :roll:

Plus this script goes excellently with LV's Player Response Fleets and race Response Fleets. My universe is becoming a very "eventful" place to be 8)

what i could do with is balencing issues, do you thing the moeny you get is right for the mission ?

I think the reward is a bit low for the time the mission takes. I get much more for level 1 (yep still level 1) Bounthunters, Mercenaries, Assassin etc, about 1 mil a piece.

Cycrow are the spawned enemies race-linked, such that kills will affect race rep?

there spawned as either kha'ak, xenon or yaki, so you will get race rep for killing them, as well as money with your poice licence

It does but it would be very cool, maybe somebody with the skills will read this and offer to pitch in 8) I think adding specific battle music would also be good (and easier).

Imagine doing a border patrol and bored out of your head as there isn't anything going on. All of a sudden an enemy destroyer jumps in and lets rip with everything it has, and at that moment we are treated to say... the starship troopers theme blasting out, so coool :D

not sure how much control you have over playing music
but i will look into doing sounds
i think it would be pretty cool having chatter for the missions

I like this Military Guild script. It's cool to have possibility to work for pirate army too.
And even from start of game you can work for Teladi, becouse they sell Police licence to neutral pilots.
Good work, bring more missions types to us.

But one strange thing I saw. Even not signed in any army, I saw Military missons offers for Teladi and Pirate army. I thought it will be visible only after register in current army. Not big fault, just check it up.
