This script allows you to join the Merchants guild to find good trading opputunites as well as various BBS trading missions.
Includes the Traders network to find good bargins, and the Traders market to buy and sell goods

Missions will be added in the next versions


1. The Merchants Guild

To join the merchants guild, you will need to apply for the membership from the BBS in the Merchant Guild Shipyards
There is a one time fee to join the guild.
Once joined, you will get access to the Traders network and traders market, as well as any missions available from the merchants guild.

Within the guild you will have a rank, you can view this rank buy going to the View Guild Status option in your ships additional command slots.

2. Traders Market

The traders market allows you to buy and sell goods on the BBS, these will be found in trading stations throughout the universe.
There will be seperate articles for buying and for selling.

To sell goods, it will display the goods you can sell, these wil lbe goods that you currently have in your cargo hold and can sell them
at good prices.

To buy goods, just select the ware you wish to buy, if theres enough room in your cargo hold and you have enough money, they will be loaded into your ship.

3. Traders Network

The traders network displays good prices for products and resources in the universe.
There will be 2 lists, one for products, and one for resources, and will display stations that currently have good prices on them.

You can disable the Traders network by selecting the option in the Artifical Life Settings.

The traders network always creates satlites throughtout the univers, these can be remove buy using the option in the AL settings.

4. Missions

Wanted Ware:
Available from the BBS, someone urgently needs wares to be deleivered, its your job to bring all they need. You will be paid a good price for each unit you bring
as well as bonus for a successful mission.

Ware Delivery:
Someone needs a certain amount of wares to be deleivered to a station. When accepting the mission, they will be loaded onto your ship for you to deleiver them to
the target station. Upon deleivery you will be paid. If you sell the wares before completing the mission, you will be charged the cost of them.

5. Advanced Best Sells Locator

This upgrade is avaialble from all good teladi space equipment docks.
It will utilise the unique merchants guild traders network to find the best possible price to sell your wares for throughout
the universe.

Once installed in your ship, there are 2 methods to use it, the first, is the trade command, found in the trade menu
for your ships command console. This will ask for the station range, the range is how many jumps away you want to search.
entering 0 here will make it search the whole universe.

The second is the hotkey which you can assign in the controls menu under the interface tab, pressing the hotkey will
be the same as using the command with a range of 0 for the whole universe.

Once activated, the device will log onto the traders network to scan for the best prices.
It will however cost you for the privledge, the prices are as follows:
10'000 credits if your not a member of the guild.
5'000 credits for level 1 merchants in the guild.
1'000 credits for level 2 merchants in the guild.
and free for anyone with level 3 or higher.

6. Merchants Guild Shipyard.

A few shipyards will be built by the merchants guild around the universe where you can buy a range of merchant ships.
Docking will only be allowed to those members of the guild and the ships will only be avaialble for high level members of the guild.
The station will have higher priority for merchant missions, tranders network and traders market on the BBS.

When a new shipyard is built, there will be a BBS news article broadcast where the new station is built, so check the BBS for these ;)

* More varied types of trading/merchant missions
* valueing of stations based on thier income
* Auctioning of stations, buy and sell, based on thier value

I just thought i'd let you know so you can decide whether to carry on making it aswell.

I'm quite proud of it actually, i'd even hazard a guess that it would come up to your high standards!
(And even more in the works, the next version is gonna have so much variety the t file is gonna be huge!!! - is there any limit how big a single file can be?)

yeah i wanted to ask you about that actaully, how does it get the pricing for aucting off the stations ?

coz i was planning to add the ability to track how well each station is doing, NPC and player stations, and have the auctions based of that price, so you can sell a station and get alot more than it cost to build

althou the main idea was to use that along with a few other missions, so i will still be doing part of it for the other missions ;)

Wow, when i first got X3 i downloaded some of your scripts and thought they were amazing. Then i looked at the script editor and i knew they were amazing. And now your asking me a question about a script i've made! I'm flattered! :)

I'll PM you some details.

Feel free to have a look at my script if you want and also to use any of the company names if needed in any of your scripts. The more scripts that all use the same common names, the more alive the game will feel!

yeah, nice work.
Thats what I was waiting for all the time. Now you just have to fix the Assassins Guild Problem, that only so few missions are appearing and everything will be perfekt. :)

i have worked it out.

Cycrow is the Stig (top gear)

Reasons for belief:

-> He doesn't need to sleep :o
-> he writes many complicated scripts with both eyes shut, with one hand, while watching his favourite TV show. :?
-> he breathes through gills on the side of his knees :?


all we know is ....... he likes X³

Yay! Another way to support my growing fleet! :D And now that I know that there is a station auction script out there, I don't have to use my obselete factories as target practice to get rid of them!

Is it just anywhere where the Merchant guild joining turns up as I have been to about 20 stations looking for it and still nothing. Sorry if I am being inpatient

Not one bloody conflict :)

and his installer allows you to download automatically

(ps cycrow, whats the chance when you automatically download a package update, to leave the downloaded file in your default x3 script folder? I rebuild pc or reinstall x3 quite a lot, and i like to have the install files as well. Just means i dont have to worry about versions being unavailable should i have to reinstall x3. does that make sense? *is late and i am tired*)

try looking in the programs directory ;)

c:\program files\xscript installer, or whereever u installed it
there sohuld be a folder called downloads, and the sohuld be in there

im pretty sure they dont get deleted

I haven't had a chance to play with this this weekend.... work .. grrr.

But i was wondering if you get race rep from using the merchants guild along with your guild rep, or will this be added in the future?

Only wondering as some of us merchants usually don't fight much (or we will but only when cornered like a rat in a cage), and getting race rep can be difficult if you don't go around kacking kha'ak. As i couldn't fight my way out of a wet paper bag most times, i usually just walk into the room with the biggest gun, if you get my analogy. :)

well, the missions arn't in yet, so in the current version you dont get any rep points

but onces i've added the missions, you will get rep bonus from completing them

I never before saw 28 millions cr bonus for some merchant type mission. Yesterday it was first time. Not that I can gather nearly 100 of aHEPT so fast. But from now I will collect all my loot in some captured TPs and TSs for later opportunity. Better sell it later for full price and bonus than now for medium price in equipment docks.

Again, perfect work Cycrow. You brings to us more and more playability into X3 (in contrast to Egosoft :roll: ).
