--

For those of you not aware of Sector Planner in its X2 version, full details can be found in:

X2: Sector Planner thread

To put it simply X3: Sector Planner helps you plan your trading and factory building in the X Universe. It can show you places there is likely to be a shortage or a surplus of goods and may help you find new trade routes or profitable factory and complex locations.

--

Due to the graphics card in my development machine coming to an abrupt end last week, I have taken the decision to release X3: Sector Planner in its current beta state until such time that I can replace the graphics card.

As it is effectively still a beta there are a number of issues and the quality is below the level I would normally consider for a public release, however I hope that it will be some use to the community as it stands.

As usual full details including the known bugs and the downloads are available from:

http://www.lagerchurch.com/lordsuch/

Please note that when you start X3SP you no longer see the entire universe so it does not have a spoiler element. To reveal the sectors you have explored, right click on the sector and choose the appropriate option from the explore menu.

As always any bugs that are not mentioned on the website or other issues please let me know.

Cheers

LS

Works fine if you remember the 'p'.

Nice one LS!

Hah, you're right, well spotted.

That mistake was purely my quoting error. The original link, when clicked, gave the quoted error.

TinkerBell - There was a minor error there which has been fixed - well at least it works from my machine...

If you're still having any problems, please let me know.

Sector Planner

Post by Sirus5 » Mon, 12. Dec 05, 12:47

I have to say that it is a fine piece of work - even at this stage...

I wrote the dll plugin for this known as "Sector Viewer" and I have just tried it and found a few problems with this - specifically, if you try to view an empty sector, it will crash LS's Sector Planner!!!

To Get Sector Viewer, Right click on a sector and then select it from the popup. However, don't use it in any sector where there are no facts.

I am hoping to update this so it doesn't crash within the next week and hope to liaise with LS to have it fixed. Also, I hope to make it a little less ugly over the Xmas period.

Many Thanks LS

I'm so happy you are still working on this, LordSuch. This was a valuable tool for me in X2.

Download page doesn't work . . . HTTP 500.100 error
And after hundreds of years of evolution, the common housefly still doesn't know that the big, solid, clear thing is a window . . .

The 'About' text hasn't been changed from X2. I haven't pointed out any problems with production rates.

Yet.

You will need to download the .NET 1.1 framework - there is a link to it from the downloads sections of my website (the last entry) which redirects you to the correct download page on the Microsoft site.

May I refer you to the known issues section of my website

To be honest "branding" is always the last thing I do as it is not important to the functionality.

I will look forward to your input as always. I am aware of the problems with a number of factories as listed in the known issues. I should be able to rectify this without the need for a development machine so this is something I can modify!

Cheers

I'm having the exact same problem, though on a super fast new ultra laptop.

Mufflink.

You expect me to read the documentation?

It works fine for me and I'm running .NET 2.0, though I did install it over 1.1. I don't know if that makes a difference.

LS, i got great use out of your X2 sector planner and with X3's... different style of economy, i can see this version getting even more use.

Thanks much for the hard work
Being as this is a BHEPT, the most powerful laser in the galaxy, and would blow your cockpit clean off. You have to ask yourself one question; "Do I feel lucky?".

Well, do ya? Punk.

The three available versions of .NET are "sandboxed" and therefore you could have v1.0, v1.1 and v2.0 all installed at once. AFAIK an application designed for v1.1 will not run on v2.0 (if v1.1 is not installed).

HTH
