So any information about what to expect from the X3 Reunion 1.3 patch ??
1) So what the 1.3 patch is going to fix in detail ??
Is any official information available about that ??
(there are a lot to be fixed\change in these game that's for sure)
2) Is it going to be released in these month as Egosoft said in their news page ??
I guess these are mainly questions for the Creators of the game or the authorities of these site

If it allows those that can't yet play it due to crashes, bugs and performance to get to play it, then that’s a step in the right direction. I’m enjoying my X3 experience with only a few crash's which I think is down to starforce anyway so I’m happy.

And the new patch......When?
Ok, so when will the next patch be available? What will it fix? Will it be "The One!"? Is someone going to hold their hand up and admit that somewhere along the line the game got screwed up? Has anyone nailed down where the performance issues lie yet? Eg, Gfx cards, Processors, wrong coloured mouse mat???
And if anyone gives me any more technical advice I'm really really really going to cry!!!!! !

Duh!
Which of the specific technical questions did you fail to read Drainy?
I'm sorry if you can't read English very well, so I'll endeavour to use a little more "technical" clarity in my vocabulary.
1. When the patch will be released to fix the known issues with the game?
2. WHAT will it fix?...Meaning...Technically....What changes to the initial program will it improve and what enhancements will it make to game playability?
3. Is there any insight as to what specific hardware configurations have the greatest performance issues? For instance....Are there certain processor/Gfx card setups that suffer more than others? Has anyone compiled a list of common factors to support a theory or atleast a hypothosis yet?
4. I don't want technical advice on my SYSTEM, there is nothing wrong with it, trust me, I know. It's the game that's the problem.
So, if you can't answer any or all of those questions, or give me something useful to use Drainy, don't bother to answer at all. I just want the £30 I spent on the game to not be a waste of money.

Just a small unofficial update. At present, we are working on a 1.2.03 update, which is in its 3rd phase of release candidate testing. Please don't read anything into our file numbering system for updates
I'm not going to go into the exact content now - as always if something we talk about is missed out or delayed until a future update people will be disappointed. However I can say that prime areas being looked at are:
- game performance (some really good improvements here with menus and HUDs etc)
- conclusion of plot bugs and smaller game bugs
- addition one or two game features that were previously planned but couldn't make it until now.
Something more official and with better spelling and grammer will follow soon.

That is reasuring.
I mean, sure the game runs fine for me right now, mostly perfectly so at 1600x1200 resolution (unless I get way to close to an enemy's exaust, in which case my FPS drops and I usually end up having crashed).
But any time I hear about new game features with any patch I get excited

careful wth that one,xeon_1 wrote:@ the abyss are you also looking into the hard drive corruption problem that some people including me have had afther the latest patch
it completly corrupted my 2 hard drives a week afther installing it
so at the moment the pc in my signature is nothing more than a peace of useless metal
last time we tried to get at the hard drive corruption problem,
the only official reply we got stated that all of our claims were "wild" (if anyone knows about making wild claims, it's egosoft.) and the thread was locked. there was aboslutely no effort on the part of the moderator to work out even the possiblity of a problem. just the classic "contact you hardware manufacturer who will, in turn, tell you to contact you software manufacturer who, yet again, tell you to contact your hardware manufacturer" runaround.

if x3 is truely responsible for the corruption of our hard drives, they will fix it, but reallistically, they can't ever admit they are liable. if even one moderator was to be quoted saying something even suggesting that hardware corruption may be their fault, it could be legally actionable.
so i'd sugguest to just be patient and hope that the next patch addresses the issue. (if it does, i doubt it would say so in the read me)
it's likely that such a serious problem is going to be fixed quickly and quietly.
with just how wrong the release of x3 has gone, egosoft has to walk a fine line to maintain it's integrity. realistically, the hit to their fan base won't make any real difference in the long run. when x3 1.9.3.6.001 (or something like that. lol) owns the space sim genre in a year or so, only a few veterans will still hold a grudge for being used as involuntary beta testers back in "the day".
initial irresponsiblity has hurt pretty bad (sorry about your hds, man. ouch.), but, hopefully, it will eventually be the x3 we wanted. (or, at least, were promised. or even was advertised to be.)
by the way, thanks for the update, abyss. much appreciated. =]

It is highly unlikely that a game would cause HDD corruption since to cause that degree of corruption would require fiddling with parts of the Hard Disk that a game would never need to touch. Something X3 does could however impact a driver or 3rd party app that does play with those kind of things though.
I'm not saying that it is completely impossible for X3 to be responsible but it is rather unlikely, at least on it's own.
If anyone with this problem could start a thread in technical support (if there already isn't one) and list their system as well as any software Windows is running then it may be possible to find the common thread.
