I goofed. I forgot that things are placed a "safe" distance in X2, so a whole day's worth of work of scripting mines near a warpgate will be for naught if there is this stupid safe distance feature in X3. Safe distance meaning if I try to place something near a warpgate (or other thing) with a script it goes a few km away in a random direction. So please tell me there is some way to make position permanent and exact in X3. If not, please Devs put one in! Let the scripter worry about safe placement not the engine!

Such are the joys of modding a game you don't have yet...

to tell you the truth .. in X2 the safe positioning was only for ships etc (not fabs) .. and I pers. hope they now have done it as well for fabs ..

but thats just my opinion .. and I cant help you further than guessing they did ..

one way to quickly find out ..eject something near a gate .. and see where it appears ..

I've had the same collision detection issue with my little spacemen i wanted circling my ship on a hull repair script Neutral

I doubt it will change but you could try set position x,y,z while oos, dunno if it would work.

Setting position with OOS works tempararily, but when you go back into the sector it moves again.
I also tried ejecting mines, not only does it move but there is no eject ware command so it must be done manually.
There's a set position command, a set safe position command, and I'm not saying take those out just add set UNsafe position command.
