Thanks a lot mate. I have completed the game, but for some reason I havent got the unlocked starting positions, any idea what you have to do to get them properly? I'll dl this cheers.

some say you unlock them by race rank, some say trade+fight rank,

me personally i would say milestones.

e.g.

teladi trafficker - exceed a certain amount of wealth
savage split - kill a certain amount of borons

etc. etc.

your guess is as good as mine

i just put the registry change, into a dowloadable file for public use. i will probably put up stats tomorrow on what you start with

Any of you guys notice that many scripts (mainly AL scripts) dont work at all when starting a new game in one of the unlocked modes? Such as all of cycrows guild scripts and so on, no settings in the AL Settings tab etc.. ?

no i did not try scripts in an unlocked game.

ego probably did it so you can't cheat your race rank up.

the unlockable start modes are quite hard normally harder than x-treme, with the exception of a few.

so it is kept as a challenge. IMHO there should be a Xenon mode

If you start as kak, how will you be able to save since you can't dock at any station and will you be able to rank up?(killing pirates)

But, could someone explain to me what the real differences are? The early game might be a little different, but isnt' it possible to get back in good graces with everyone anyway? And being dirt poor just means a little more time trading energy, right?

you are technically not kha'ak and race rep is enabled so your rep can go up and down

i suppose you just have a long pirate bashing session may take all day though

as a khaak are you friend with other khaak ?
in that case couldn't you teleport to khaak stations ? (if it ever exist, I don't know)

no xenon starting position ? that's a shame

[mode xenon=on] you are the xenon central AI. As such you have to manage all xenon fleets and take over the universe

Well yeah, that's why it's considered hard. On a scale from 1 (easy) to 10 (hard), I'd say all the others are 1 and the Khhak one is 10. Playing a game without saving means perma-death when you die!

You can dock and save in Pirate bases from the Khaark starting game. I've now reached Boron Accepted Friend by dint of some determined Split basing in Atrius Clouds. I also have a small fleet of captured frieghters and enough money to buy a factory in a few more games hours. Then I have to work on getting a jump drive, no luck capturing one, though I've got a Transporter now and lots of weaponry. Hard work when everyone hates you
