X-Timelines: Time Based Autosave
WARNING: READ ALL INFORMATION IN THIS THREAD BEFORE DOWNLOADING
[ external image ]
Synopsis:
This mini mod is a part of the X-Timelines Mod that we are releasing as a standalone mod for X3:TC that is compatable with all other mods (With the excpetion of "Time of the Truth" mod)
Wow, how many times did i say mod in that sentence? rofl

Time Based Autosave Allows you to set a timer and have the game automacticly save after each time interval has elapsed

Critical Information:
I.E. At least read the following before downloading:
Due to the nature of this mini mod, the moment you install it all of your savegames will become invalid - unfortunaly this is compleatly unavoidable

Any Savegames made prior to the installation of this mod will cause X3:TC to crash to desktop with the message "Savegame ## Corrupt"
Any Savegames made after installing this mod will load fine, providing you leave the mod installed, or carefully follow the uninstall instructions

Installation:
  • After first installing X-Timelines: Autosave your savegames will all become invalid, You may backup these savegames if you wish to keep them as they can be used again if you uninstall the mod
  • Step1: Download the XTimelines Autosave Rar from the download link below
  • Step2: Extract the rar file to your X3:TC Folder
  • Step3: Start a NEW game
  • Step4: Open the AL Plugin list and configure XTL: Autosave

[ external image ]
Uninstallation:
  • Step1: Remove the files added to your Scripts and t folders
If you wish to retain savegame compatability with saves created after installing this mod, skip step 2
Performing Step 2 will cause all savegames made with this mod install to go invalid, if you backed up your savegames prior to installing this mod you can restore them now
  • Step2: Remove the file "x3story.obj" within the folder of "L"
Skipping Step 2 will allow you to retain savegame compatability with savegames you've made during the use of this mod, the file "x3story.obj" will not effect your game in any way after removing the scripts (note, this only holds true if the game version has not been patched, see below)

due to the nature of the OBJ files, the download has been removed untill the patching of TC and AP have stopped.

I edited the game to accept a phantom script command and save the game.

Just an odd question but I had originally thought the L folder was off limits for editing?

Still nice trick. Thank you for the release Jack08.

Nope it's been ok for well over a year now. Enenra posted the good news about April 2010ish.

Yay another folder for me to break with endless tinkering!
Makes me feel old though. I must have missed that.

Is there any info on what can be done with the files in the "L" folder?
Adding new commands and such seems quite interesting to me. :)

Not really, most of the work Jack08 and Litcube have done has had to be done in assembly.

I take it this is no longer available? :-\

I'd really love it for my "dead-is-almost-dead" style of play where if I die I load up my last save and self destruct my ship before continuing on. The model falls apart though if the save games get too dated, which happens more often than I'd like to admit...
