Mission time multiplier guide

Post by Zorba131 » Mon, 17. Dec 18, 19:51

Hello, this is a guide for dummies.

If you want to increase mission time, then you need X3 Editor 2 and good text editor (ex. sublimetext or notepad++).

1. Open X3 Editor 2 and configure default profile, enter path to directory of any X3 game.

2. Go to "Plugins - Cat Manager".

3. Go to "director" folder and find file "U.4 Finish Briefing". Click "Copy" on it.

4. Paste file to desktop. Open it in a text editor. Insert line (you can change 5 to any other multiplier) "<set_value name="{param@Duration}" exact="{value@{param@Duration}}*5"/>" between line "<do_if value="{value@{param@Duration}}" min="1">" and "<create_briefing cue="{param@Cue}">".

5. Click downarrow near "Open cat" button. Select "New".

6. Choose filename with number next to your latest .cat file. "16" in my example.

7. Click "Commands - New directory". Type "director". Enter to folder.

8. Drag&Drop our "U.4 Finish Briefing.xml" file here, press "OK". Then close X3 Editor 2, launch game and enjoy extended mission time!

And remember, this only affects new missions taken after this mod.

thanks heaps!
just what i was looking for just now.
helps those like me who (1) like to play without SETA and (2) like to read a book, eat a sandwich, or browse the internet while on auto-pilot.

SETA doesn't actually help with mission times, as SETA speeds up the universe. The mission times are in-universe time, not physical time

Ahhh! I didn't know that.
Therefore, "You have 13 minutes to complete this delivery mission." is much more so an impossibility - even with a jump drive.
You'll need both a jump drive AND an installed jump gate installed next to your destination.
