Joubarbe, what flag in Tmissiles decides whether the missile is fired as a swarm? I want to revert the M7M changes, it's extremely inconvenient to pilot it yourself as there is no hotkey to fire a barrage (unlike in XRM).
I tried using the "multi-warhead" flag, but for some reason missiles explode near the target ship without reaching the hulls. HALP

Uhm, I'm going to assume that I'm nice and understanding. Take the Wasp missile, and the Typhoon. What do they have in common? Oh look! That's the fragmentation flag!

Doing the plot only gives me the Aran (M1), Ozias (TL), Springblossom (M6), Truelight Seeker (M6), and Ranger (M3). What about the other "Goner" classified ships that are from OTAS? Like the Starburst (M3) and Venti (M3), how do I get those? They aren't showing up on the Argon market and the Goner plot didn't give me them either.

Currently you can't have them. I thought it was available to Argon market because they are OTAS. I'll change that later.

Joubarbe, a long time ago I had this "bug", if its a bug of course, but it was nothing special. Annoying though.

Yesterday Yaki took over a Paranid sector (Preacher's Void). Their BG ships despawned after things were done, the only ships left in the sector were Paranid Military Ares with his escort (a bunch of M6s). There was a bailed Senshi which I of course attempted to pick up, and as soon as I did that the Ares turned hostile on me and started spamming hammers. You can still apologize to turn it neutral, but a few seconds later it will turn hostile again. It happens when you jump out of sector too, your ship is flying for some time and then the Ares turns hostile and chases the Senshi down. It's kinda weird, don't know what causes it ... maybe you know more?

Actually, now that I SETAed up until the invasion I noticed something even more weird. There was no battle. As soon as Yaki spawn in it says the sector was captured, even though all Paranid BG ships are alive. The abandoned M6 spawned too. I can provide 2 saves, before and after it happened.

Fureimuu, this happens every time when you claim a battlegroup ship - ships of the opposing race in the same sector will turn hostile and will try to destroy it. I assume it's because they consider this ship ID an enemy even if it's bailed. I actually thought it's a feature not a bug, but idk.

The solution it to be careful when claiming BG ships. Try to make sure there are no opposing ships around, claim, quickly transfer the jumpdrive and e-cells, and jump the claimed ship out. Then apologize to any red ships and you should be good.

What about sector capture without destroying BG ships? Is is something that can happen sometimes, or my game is broken?

I'll take a look into that. Was there any stations? Yakis lead dirty wars, they just need to destroy every station.

Hello everyone, has anyone encountered a decrease in FPS upon arrival in the sector? There are not so many ships in it, so there is a reason for lags. But afer 20-30 seconds in this sector i have big laggs, with the disappearance and appearance of UI.

@Wondeful : Hello,I downloaded your samegame and I face the same problem so it's probably not about hardware/graphics, do you have older save from the same game ? If yes, are they also more than 200MB ? Because all of my saves are between 12 to 21MB so 200MB seems to be huuuuuge. Have you tried an E/I then save, maybe it'll reduce the savegame size and fix your problem


@jourbarbe : Is there any way to craft (at sanctuaries) or buy Salvage Insurance from the Goners ? Because when you start with the " Alliance : Teladi ", you can't find any place to buy them, all places I'v found are Terran/Argon sector, and they'r hostile to me. But maybe I missed a place who sell them.

I think the size is due to the fact that in almost every sector there are satellites. I have older save with no laggs, but it size - 200mb, too.

@Wonderful: Nah, 200mb is a problem. I've seen huge 15-20 days games less than 20MB.

Lol, i found problem with big size save - enabled debug for my ship :-D. After clear debug - save size = 17mb. Thx all for help.

Hi everyone !

Total noob :P I've poured like 30 hours into LU/mayhem so far and I'm just not getting anywhere. I've tried to find guides and stuff but I dunno something is lacking. Can I get some advice ?

I start on 'from scratch'. So I cap a freighter and start doing ore runs while I move around placing advanced satellites. Yeah I made about a million or so, found some abandonned ships and brought them back to my home sector. But it seems like the universe is overrun by pirates lol. In order to move around I need a proper escort fleet or something but about a million isn't near enough to do that. Station perks I'm not sure what to pick, I pick the 'doesn't consume food' cheaper stations, blueprints and higher spec levels.

Just feels like I'm not accomplishing anything though. It feels like people build fleets, complexes and stations much faster than this. I don't think I would even stand a chance in a dogfight at this point. Also how soon do I pursue my ascension ? Because usually the first objective is to declare war on 2 factions. Although you can wait like 5 hours before doing so, can you really handle it that early ? Plus you have like 24 hrs before the first OCV invasion, so how are you supposed to have a fleet ready for that I'm still mapping out the universe.

Also the xenon and pirates yikes, they're really going to town. Now don't get me wrong I absolutely love the difficulty, I find games like this really fun. Problem is I don't think I know what i'm doing no matter how many guides I've read. There's nothing really that sets you up right from the beginning guide-wise specficially for LU/Mayhem I find.

Started a fresh play of Mayhem 2.7.6, and I like a lot of the improvements I've seen so far.

This is the first time I actually got all 5 ascension levels! It was a bit close on the last one.

They were

Build and operate 3 mining ships (had to get lucky with a scan of a mining ship early on, moderately tricky)
Own 3 sectors (really easy, just a matter of increasing my threat level)
Own 4 M6 (wouldnt have made it except I was lucky and spotted an abandoned M6 with like an hour to spare)
Get to level 7 with any faction (easy, parked outside a gate in Argon territory next to a pirate sector)
Own 1 M7 (didn't think I would make this one)
The last one I finished with like 10 minutes to spare. I hadn't even researched it yet, so when I found out about that ascension level requirement, I had to claim a fourth sector just so I could build a research station to make my research station go a tiny bit faster. Wouldn't have made it without that, and a few lucky research breakthroughs.
