Well, your work does make people happy. Thank you for it all!Joubarbe wrote:You know... modding X3 is quite the only thing I like to do these days. No money, happy community. Trying to save the world is a stupid narcissistic idea, try to make the people around you happy instead.
That was the sermon of the day, thank you.
That philosophy is the closest I've gotten to achieving a life-purpose pseudo-nirvana, especially in a world where the information age has you feeling increasingly powerless to address society's larger problems.
Working away at an X3 space empire feeds both my escapism and imagination.
Maybe there is a review not yet posted. I am proud to say I was the first 10. I am new to the mod and was frankly shocked there were no reviews on Mod DB. As to your philosophy, I am in total agreement. You should not stress over the things out of your control. You can only be responsible for your own actions. I for one am happy you have taken so much time to modify this game. Thank you.Joubarbe wrote:Do you guys understand why two reviews with a rating of 10 gives an average of 7 on ModDB?
Never played Mayhem but 2.5.0 caught my attention so decided to dive into Litcube again but this time I wanted to grasp every aspect of the game properly so watched memeics/dizzy marathon series of instructional vids. (these are the best series of youtubes I have ever watched although you will need a camp bed, two fridges, one for beer and the other for ready meals,a microwave, a comfy armchair and around 35 odd hours of leisure time,,,)
Albion Prelude + Litcube is what X4 should have been and fingers crossed ever so tightly Mayhem 2.5.0 be X5.
Thanks guys for helping me keep my grey cells from withering away...

A lot of EVE music is installed with LU (Soundtrack.exe), not sure if that's all tracks though. For example Doomed Forever is playing in Belt of Aguilar. If you want to add more (in case some songs are missing), open galaxy editor and check all sectors' settings. You can change the BGM there.tatakau wrote:I think I read somewhere buried in this thread on or on ModDB that the EVE Online music on CCP's Soundcloud works really well with Mayhem. Or maybe LU. Not sure where I read it.

But if I'm going to be getting a fresh install together for the impending 2.5, I figured I might as well take a stab at bringing in their music.
Do you have any recommended procedures, for what files to replace in the X3>Soundtrack folder?

I had played X3 with LU before I tried Eve (free alpha account). I was amazed to hear so much "X3" music when I first fired up Eve!Fureimuu wrote:A lot of EVE music is installed with LU (Soundtrack.exe), not sure if that's all tracks though. The music that LU uses from Eve just fits so very well into the whole X3 feel, it's uncanny.
