Are the ranks between CA and CLS interchangeable or do I need to level up my traders all over?

Just downloaded the latest CAG and CLS and libraries.

* Bought new Mercury in Argon prime.
* Equipped with Duplex, Trade I, Trade II, Trading System Extension, Nav I.
* Assigned Homebase to one of my Complexes.
"Start commercial representation" is present, but grayed out.

And I wonder if that's related:

Hey, about my previous issue, I didn't know the log was incomplete before I converted my CAG freighter to EST. I also noticed that a few of my traders with EST enabled would just stay in standby also but a few other traders worked. I bought trade MK3 for them and then they started working. I think this is why CAG also started working, they require trade software MK3 but your description does not require it? luckily I can afford the software for all my freighters and now they're doing a wonderful job.

I will try buying another freighter without the software. If its still stuck in standby, would you like a log for that? since it could be a bug?

Do you have bought the Trade Software MK3 for your CAGs? The CAGs does not need the MK3 software.

Actually.. now everything is working fine. I bought a mercury gave it all the upgrades it needed except the trade software MK3 and it's working as it should be now. I must've been dreaming or something yesterday.

I went to an EQ dock to make sure and the only thing I installed on the ship was the trading system extension. For some reason that made it possible to start commercial representation.

If this works the same way that X3R did, then when you purchase and equip a ship it is not truly 'Docked' at the SY. You can see this if you transfer to the ship before you move it, you will be somewhere in space rather than at a docking point. You need to dock your new purchase properly before the CAG can be started.

I'm having the CAG on Standby problem as well. I have a crystal producing complex which I'm trying provide energy for with a CAG, however it will not get out of the station! Thanks a lot of this great script, I hope I can get it working!

EDIT: I just realized something interesting, the trader job listed in this log says "trader" however I have it set to shopper in game. I wonder if this may be a bug? Also, just to be curious, why do crystals/energy not have a buy/sell tag like the Cahoonas, Silicon, and Beef?
