1.51 of the Config plugin is now out, and it should fix the priority for both TC and the AP bonus pack

Thanks for your reply, Cycrow.

Somehow, the new update "CommunityPluginConfiguration-V1.51-03.01.2012.spk" seems cannot be installed by "Plugin Manager Lite : V1.30".

Only pop-up the "Unkown Error". I dont know why.

Is it my fault? :(

I tried the 1.40 beta and sorry to tell you, that problem seems remains.

But dont worry its not a big bug anyway.

BTW, I am playing X3TC not X3AP.

Since using 1.40 beta every time I launch it, some warning pop-up:

---------------------------
Protected Directory
---------------------------
WARNING: The game directory:
C:\Program Files\EGOSOFT\X3 Terran Conflict

Is in a protected directory (C:\Program Files)

This might cause problems with installing anything, its better to move to game elsewhere, or you may need to run the Plugin Manager with admin access rights
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

May be you can figure out the problem from here.

the problem is exactly as it says, its warning you that having the game in programs files could cause problems with installing stuff

if its not c ausing any problems, you can safetly ignore it

EDIT: in RC3 of the plugin manager, you can now surpress that message in the future

So how to fix it?

This never happen when I use the stable version Plugin Manager Lite : V1.30.

C:\Program Files should be a protected directory, right? :?

Windows protects certain directorys, and this can cause problems with the plugin manager trying to write the files to the game.

it doesn't effect everyone however.

the problem has always existed, just in 1.40, it now gives you a warning about it, so if your installed scripts aren't showing up, then that is the likly cause.

if its not causing a problem, just ignore/surpress the warning and carry on as normal.

if it is causing a problem, u'll need to try either running the plugin manager with admin rights to hopefully grant it permissions to install there, or otherwise move the game elsewhere.

i never install games into program files, in vista/7 especially its not a good idea

* To supress the message u'll need RC3 which i've just released

A small report:

My Turbo Booster *was* working until I ran "Check for Updates" in the Plugin Manager. It showed this version (1.01), so I downloaded the .spk and installed it.

Hotkey said, "Not enough energy...". And the Community Config page had no entry for the Turbo Booster.

So I did some investigation and found that setup.plugin.turbo v1.01 was not loading. I had only the 1.00 version, which did not work with the rest of the files.

Further investigation showed that the new installer has setup.plugin.turbo.xml but not the .pck. However, the old version left behind a .pck which, apparently, took precedence over the new .xml file.

I deleted the old .pck, and the Turbo Booster now works correctly.

(BTW, I like the new Config page. Nice choices, especially the ordering of energy sources!)

the pck files are from the bonus pack
and yes, they do take priority over xml files

Yep.

I just thought you should know, in case somebody else tries to update.

As far as I could tell, that was the only file that did not fully update.

I haven't actually used the turbo booster.

I skimmed over the thread here and I'm a bit confused at what my options are. Do we have to uninstall the TC bonus pack to get the updated turbo code? I use other components of the bonus pack so is option b to wait until the main bonus pack gets updated? (assuming that ever happens)

Thanks.

You could just manually delete the turbo booster files

Just to expand on Cycrow's correct-but-terse answer, you do not have to uninstall the TC Bonus Pack. However, you *do* have to manually delete one file from your scripts folder:

setup.plugin.turbo.pck

It does not matter when you delete it. It is OK to delete the file either before or after installing the new version of the Turbo Booster.

After deleting the old setup file (and installing the new version, of course), the new version of the Turbo Booster should work correctly.

Note that the new version adds a Community Configuration menu item. You will need a hotkey for the Community Configuration Menu, and you must be undocked to use it.

u might need to delete one of the plugin.turbo pck files as well
as at least one of those is changed.

otherwise it wont use the settings from the menu

The 1.10 package overwrites all of the old .pcks, except for setup.plugin.turbo.pck. That is the only file left over when installing Turbo Booster 1.10.

You could probably update the .spk in less time than it takes to read and reply to these messages. :)

Just add setup.plugin.turbo.pck to the .spk.
