Good vid on the changes which actually look interesting, looking forward to some Utube play vids but staying away from this one for 6 months, got burned on Rome II not doing that again!
Anyone picking this up early?

I saw my go to streamer playing it yesterday. It was a sponsored content video. He seemed to enjoy it never the less. Looked decent, not buggy and enjoyable if you like this kind of game. Did not look like something i would play though.

I'd like to know whether it's essentially a rehash of the Viking Invasions expansion for MTW 1. None of the previews or reviews I've seen have mentioned this but it seems a pretty obvious comparison point to me.
Mind you, I thought the same about RTW 2's Attila and RTW1's Barbarian Invasions and no-one else seemed to mention it.

TW Shogun 2 is my favourite TW so far and I would recommend getting it, more so if you like Japanese Culture/History.Morkonan wrote:I'll wait. I haven't seen anything worth dedicating time to in a Total War game since MTW2...
I do own both Rome 2 (Emperor Edition) and Attila (got them on very cheap sales) but none are as fun and I have not touched them in ages. To be fair, once I got EU4 both the TW and Civ franchises lost much of my interest. TW I completely stopped following after they went the Warhammer route, there I lost all interest in this franchise and have not read or looked for any updates.
Dont think that will change for this one.

Of course the city building/balancing did not help.
I also recommend Shogun 2 - in fact Fall of the Samurai is in my opinion among the best Total wars

Just a note:
I forgot to mention "Empire: Total War" I actually really like that game in the series and, in contrast to most players, love the sea battles! (I'm a big "Age of Sail" fan.)
BUT, only with Darthmod, which fixes some of the dumb issues with Naval combat/strategy/economy as well as many other great tweaks.
Shame how they snubbed him after all those years of adding value to their product... :/
