If Stan Lee is reborn in his next life as one of his superhero's, which one do you think it would be?
Re: Death announcements for persons of note
Observe asks;
If Stan Lee is reborn in his next life ... would be?
He was on record as saying Spiderman was his favorite character. I'd like to thing he's up there practicing his web slinging and wall crawling...

Godspeed, Stan. "Excelsior," always. As a boy, there was a tired wire rack full of dreams that I selected from every weekend. I am ever so thankful that I found yours.
And, Douglas Rain, your voice will never fail, never grow old, and never tire. Thank you for being the perfect HAL and reminding us of the power of the human voice. And, thanks for lending me your voice so I could replace all my system trigger sounds... Nothing says "Science Fiction Fan" like a "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" critical error message.

Just read about Stan Lee's passing. The Marvel films will never be the same without him making his cameo appearances in them.

Sad about Stan but also what a great life, he lived his work to the end, despite the nasty crap with the attempted con on his money.

I'm not an angler, but John Wilson was such an engaging presenter that I was a regular watcher of his show Go Fishing.

Rest in peace John.
That's a shame. As an angler I used to like his show until our PBS station dropped it. Heard he was in Thailand. When I was there in the service I flyfished there and locals thought I was whipping the water.

Can't be sad about Stan Lee passing - he's made it to 95 years old, left his mark on the world in a positive way, and had a right old time. Quality - that's what you call a life!

Richard Baker, voice of the first news bulletin broadcast on BBC television has died age 93.
I remember him along with Robert Dougall when I was a kid in the 60's.

Re: Death announcements for persons of note
I remember Richard Baker presenting the news in my youth--sad to hear he's gone, although I loved the bit in the obituary where it said he would read the news to other residents at his retirement home!
Re: Death announcements for persons of note
This is one of the most notable deaths that will likely go unnoticed by many people. William Goldman wrote a buttload of AAAA scripts that people loved.pjknibbs wrote: ↑Fri, 16. Nov 18, 17:48William Goldman, writer of "The Princess Bride" (both novel and movie) amongst other things, has died:

Look at that list of work! Holy crap... There isn't likely going to be someone on this forum that hasn't seen one of the movies that Goldman either wrote or co-wrote the script for. And, his script-fix work often went uncredited, too. But, he's "just" a script-writer and nobody but the studios and producers and directors and anyone who's serious about making the movie pays attention to that...
Godspeed, Mr. Goldman. Thanks for all the wonderful tales!
Re: Death announcements for persons of note
Just realised he wrote "A Bridge Too Far", which means he's responsible for one of the best lines ever:
"Examine him sir. Please. Or I'll blow your f***ing head off."
