Heard this, today for the first time in a long time. Brought back memories of a past girlfriend. Strange how music can sometimes have such power. :(

Grammy is getting Sir Elton soon. Here's one of his first bids from 1971 that I hadn't seen since about then. Only Wolfman Jack isn't around to introduce any more.

Tiny Dancer by a much younger fellow than today:

My first real girlfriend had this album on reel-to-reel... We listened to it a lot. :)

Madman Across the Water (title song) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWrzhWnzhAs

Tiny Dancer was on that LP, too. Great memories.

Great memories here, too. I had a decent rack stereo system and girls would come over to "listen to that album." ... .. <ahem> I am not a smart man. :)

Yes great memories, however that song I posted has memories definitely tinged with sadness, for me.

I am getting old. :(

Wow Terre this is a first. YouTube has Taste blocked in the US!
"Content from Eagle Rock not available in your country".

YEAH! Now Goin' Home was My favorite on that album!

Weird the topic and the song mesh since we're taking about first girl friends. Here's one that we listened to:

ELP: From the Begining

https://youtu.be/UtGjJVcrKQU

Found Taste singing What's Going On that's not blocked:

Since nobody else is posting I'll edit this in.
Here's profetic little ditty put out before Trump was elected
but is more like an anthem for what's happening in D.C.

Thank you for the Ten Years After links, guys. New to me. :)

No swearing in this FVDP song.

Queensryche here with Someone Else.

Well if we are going real old school then lets talk classics,
one has to mention Vivaldi.

Nice!!! Really good covers, I like them.

Also great.

While we are talking about older music, there is a swedish song called Herr Manneling. From all I could find it was written in the 19th century, but was written to sound like a song from the middle ages. There are multiple versions of it on Youtube, the two I liked the most were by:

Garmarna

and

In Extremo (who are not swedish, thus the different pronunciation)

You can read the lyrics here.
"The problem with gender is that it prescribes how we should be rather than recognizing how we are. Imagine how much happier we would be, how much freer to be our true individual selves, if we didn't have the weight of gender expectations." - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
