I don't understand why they are giving away so many free copies of DOTA 2. One of my students has over 20 invites.

Given that the people asking for them are their likely target audience, and already have free copies, how are they ever going to sell any copies when it is only for sale and not free?

What is the business model here?

Every time they give me new keys instead of one more key they give me 4 or 5 i dont know why xD

And yes, they have a shop on the game for rare visual stuff.

They're trying hard to take advantage of the League of Legends market and to monetize that with a cash store. The only way they can do that is by giving away the game, in mass quantities. The more that play, the more that might enter the cash store and buy some gadgets and the less likely that they'll also be playing LoL at the same time...

I've got Evochron and am not interested in Deus Ex, but now that I am part of the Steam Cabal, unwillingly, I can participate in the little freebie deals you guys pass around with such abandon.
