Yeah, once you get it, you can do "Batch Convert" and it can convert all your x3 screenshots to jpg's and then place the resulting jpg's in a directory of your chooseing!

Why does X3 use tga format anyways? Isn't jpeg good enough or is egosoft trying to motivate people to buy adobe products?

Because it's the native output of DirectX or something, I expect. They're true captures which you can encode if you want, later. Outputting as JPG drastically reduces image quality.

What does TGA have to do with Adobe products? TGA (aka Targa) format was devised by Truevision, not Adobe, and it's one of the most widely-used bitmap image formats out there. (And it doesn't use lossy compression like JPEG does).

Presumably a tenuous link between 'image formats' and 'using photoshop to look at images'. If not, then I don't know :D

And yes, Irfanviewer will pretty much convert anything to anything. Very good.

Cheers,

Rob.

Irfan viewer will open and convert any file but I like to stick with Photo Filtre.

Irfanview is great, it's free, and will convert the whole screenshots directory in one go.
