OMG! (excuse my blaspheming)

Post by Exceededgoku » Wed, 16. Nov 05, 00:15

I'll get straight to the point, it is becoming blatantly obvious that people in this forum are either delinquents or are cabbages. STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE GAME! It has become quite annoying opening a post to find that it says "THis game sucks because I have a Geforce256 and it lags, blah blah blah" If you don't like the game then leave it or take it back to the shop. What can you possibly imagine you are achieving by complaining?!? Also in threads on the forum there are people who explain in great depth why the game is not quite up to speed atm, I won't say anything more on this because you can find it yourself you lazy bums (I apologise for those reading this that are not lazy).

I, and I am sure many others, do not want to hear about how you cannot afford new hardware and how the developers should optimize the game for your specs. If you want to ask the Devs anything then post in the "X³: Reunion - Technical Support" forum, because since you bought the game you will have access to this special forum which is designed specifically for moaning (well not as such but basically).

Also there are many other people complaining and you adding to the already huge list of complaints doesn't help anybody and you are just wasting space, it would be more effective to thank the devs and ask them to improve a bit of the game which you feel is lacking. If you don't like the game at all then why the hell are you on the forums posting about it?!

I have not ordered this game yet, but I play X2 and I loved it for its gameplay not graphics. What I am trying to say is that if you get lag turn the graphics settings down, if you don't know how to do this then there is no hope for you... none at all.

Please flame away

Maybe the Devs want to hear what they have to say though - considered that?

But everyone is saying the same things over and over. Some even blame egosoft cause it wont run on their ancient machines.

I hate Norton! lol. Caused my X3 to crash when i was exploring (yes i didn't dock hehe) so i lost quite a bit there

I thought that was for techincal issues, not for feedback about features in the game though...

If it were techincal, then why haven't all those threads been moved? Obviously they aren't considered to be in the wrong place.

*sigh* is that not a technical issue? graphics card optimizations sounds like hardware to me and im sure that that is a technical issue, correct me if I am wrong

The constant moaning about performance with an FX 5200 is annoying, but other than that, there is plenty to complain about.
PC specs: Athlon 64 4000+, Geforce 7800 GT 256 MB, 2048 MB PC 3200 RAM, 200 GB 7200 RPM, 500W, nForce 4 SLI dual PCI-E.

Maybe so, but once again - they move the technical related threads, yet leave the discussions alone. People are allowed to discuss issues in threads

It was moved after I posted the first post :P

WHEN you buy an X game you will thank the complainers for highlighting the bugs YOU wont suffer.
So we will await your sincerest apology for besmerching those who love the game so much as to take the time to post the problems.

If they have an old system then they are giving ES an idea of what PC`s joe bloggs actually own

If they get a CTD,then ES are glad to know it happened to avoid or fix it in future

If as you wish for nobody complained we wouldnt have patchs 1.2 or 1.2.1
and we would all be stuffed for playing the game.
NOW tahts a daft idea.

Some complain in a mousey way and the threads slip away
Some scream and shout and the threads stay up there
Some just enter the tech forum and read to see if thier problem is pandemic.
Then theres you,who complains that buyers who have problems complain ???????

sorry but...silly arse

Stop the returning tommarow posts

Post by LanceCorp » Wed, 16. Nov 05, 04:34

These posts are driving me mad!!!

First thing i like to get off my chest is that this game is still new. expect flaws, nots games that come off the shelf flawlessly, Main reason is that a computer game programmer has to basiclly programme a game for a range of computer systems which if my cals are right its about a total of 10 to the 17 power different rigs to programm for. think about that for one second.

Second is the blasted time line they have for release, its a mirrical they got a game off the ground and up and running in less then a year, now dont say anything about football games, their all based off the last years moddel just smoother graphics and a little nich in the phycis.

Third, look at x2. i remeber first playing it, boring really untill about patch 1.3 came out then it got interesting, 1.4 and 1.4 with the package of plugins really made a huge difference. just keep the game for a while until the nice people at egosoft have gotten all the bugs out of the system and added about another 50 new things to play with.

for all you know is that you could be holding on to the most advance and realilistic space trading/fighing, think game to hit the stores in the past 5 years and maybe the next 2 years before X goes to its next game.

who knows what might yet come out of X3. everything you didn't see yet may come to past one day. Now just settle down, take a deep calm breath, put the game back in its case and put it on a shelf. now sit down and take a sight of relief, not in your pants(thats what bathrooms were invented for).

Thank you for your time reading it. (my doctor said i should say thank you and sorry alot.)

Sorry if this kind of topic was already posted.

tell me about it.

if i were a moderator on this site i would put a sticky at the top saying something like **Important - Read Here before complaining** and get everyone that wants to put in their two cents worth about how they hate it and they are returning it blah blah to post there (and move/delete all non-conformers) sparing the rest of us from the incessent whinging that is messing up the noise/signal rate and congesting the board making it harder to find relevent posts!

incidently, to anyone tempted to bang on about their right to complain, if you dont like it vote with your feet and take it back. why do we need to know?

I like the system they use at totalwar.com. All the rants and raves get shuttled off to a seperate forum. Then if you want to read what the opinions others have about the game you just go there and the lot is available. If you have no interest, you son't have to see them much.

If they do get posted in the main page, a mod will come along shortly and move it.

Well said fella,
i remember when i first started X2 ,it wasnt all that great but when the patches and scripts started rolling out it became better, lots better.
i expect the same to happen with X3,i appreaciatte that deadlines have to be met by nearly everyone in life so am just thankful that egosoft (seem) to be still working on this and we'll get what the developers intended to release(i.e if they had no deadline and had time properly finish/implement things that are in their idea for the game)before too long.
so for now im happy and have confidence that my expectations will be met.
X3 has the potential to be a truly fantastic game and i suggest we all give egosoft a little bit of time to straighten it out whilst understanding that X3(currently)is probably not what they wanted to release but publishers want end product ASAP.FWIW the X series seems to be titles that are truly cared for and looked at as a flagship for egosoft so expect great things in the coming patches.a gaming company trades on its reputation after all.

Complaints are an essential part of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle). Without feed back from end user's the software cannot be further developed into an ideal solution (game). I can understand that continuous negative feedback makes a game look bad at 1st, but the developers need to use this information to make fix's. X2 was buggy in earlier versions but once the devs had the feed back they produced a patch which was better than the original product.

I understand it can get annoying when some people complain about performance when there using sub min requirements, but most issues are because the games not doing what it says on the tin.

The only thing I will say is that if someone has not got the patients to wait for the next patch or 2, then they probably won’t have the patients to play x3

If you don't like the posts I suggest you stop posting threads like this that only continue to highlight the problems and start flame wars. Post like this are no different from the ones you complain about, you are the same.

Complainers are find but i dont like people that are vauge about why they are complaining and also why bother posting that they are returning the game. is it such an anousment that the whole wide world needs to know. I personnally would just got the game back in the box and A) Kept it on a shelf and waited for a new patch release or B) Returned it to the store(very few now allow PC games to be returned) with out annoucing it to the world. its the cause of my dispairaity.
