I split your post from this almost 10 years old thread. Please do not reply to such old posts.

In the Tutorials and Resources sticky you find this tutorial where the usage of the x3 fontmaker is explained. As for the installation instructions, you can skip the first step and create the "f" folder directly within your X3: Reunion installation directory.

Thank you! :)

I will follow that tutorial later today to see if I can get it working! :)

cant seem to create a proper CAT file...is there any guide with better details on the how-to process to change the fonts?

or maybe directly a mod that could be used to increase the font that I could use? :)

Thank you! :)

Have you tried creating an "f" folder in the X3R installation directory, as I explained above, and placing the font files there?

yeah, but was failing to create the proper CAT file - UniTrader pointed me to the correct tool on this forum (could have been useful to link that in the tutorial!) and will try again to see if it works.

wouldnt it just be easier to modify the existing fonts in game to be larger, if I dont want to change them though?

would I in that case have to also follow that process?

At first I was able to change the font, I was glad. But then I have spoiled all the fonts. Don't know what it involves. Maybe because I started to use proxy server (advanced.name if maters) and VPN?

I'm afraid, I don't understand what using a proxy server and a VPN has to do with modding X3R. If your created an additional cat/dat file with your changed font files, remove that catalog pair. If you put the lose files into the "F" folder, remove the folder. Afterwards the game should use the vanilla font files again.

You don't need to create cat file for my suggestion of "placing the font files in the f folder" directly. ;)
