need help with scripting please.

Hey guys, i need some help please, i just bought the gog games version of x3 reunion its a DRM free version, the problem is the x plugin manager wont recognize the install path as valid so i cant use it to install scripts, so does anyone know how to manually install scripts? i am not a computer whiz so i will need detailed instructions as you would explain to a 4 yr. old, i own the steam version but it kept crashing but the gog version seems to be ok, also if u could tell me how to activate the script if i get it installed that would be great again in detail please, Thanks guys.
