Cannot believe I've been trying for bladdy days and the reason why it wouldnt come through is the simple fact I stayed too close to the gate LOL

As soon as I moved away about 1km it came through :oops:

lol Don't worry about it my friend. We were all noobs once. ;) At least it's sorted now. Although I suggest you try and keep the actual beam attached to the Yacht, as short as possible. Especially if you have more gates to pass through. :D

bigger, uglier and nastier than the Vallhalla from Xtended?

so, my question is has there ever been a ship that is bigger, uglier and nastier than the Vallhalla?

im looking for something to put me in my place in the game and give me a good beating, because i have pretty much destroyed all of the split and paranid stations i can find, and now im moving onto the Argon. so now i think its time that something else ingame came along and took the power away from me.

i have the Vallahalla as the fleets flagship,but i dont fly it myself, my fleet is as follows; 10 Odins, 100 Nova Raiders, 3 Titans, 4 Raptors, 1 Hyperion [my ship], 64 Buster Vanguards.

if there is a ship out there that could beat that fleet and my even nastier battle tactics i want to fight it!

it wont be just that ship fighting the fleet alone, it will have the entire Argon fleet along side it.

i also read of a Sohnen M0 in Xtended, but i cant seem to find one so i cant fight it. if i knew where to find one i wouldnt be here :wink:

EDIT: i think i may have found what im looking for, only most of the description is in german. if anyone knows how to get this beast, theres a few free beers in it for you!

Picked up angel post princess rescue. Flying back through Sacred Relic and encounter 2 X Ancient Shivan dragons. Can destroy both eventually but really want to know, are these cappable in the bare XTM with bonus pack installed? Anyone done this?
Hope i have correctly raised this topic. Many thanks in anticipation and apologies to all for incorrect forum use prior. :-)

[XTM] - plot Farnhams Legens mission, heeeelp!

Hi Everyone :)

Been a long time lover of the X series, but tend not to post much.. I've recently come back to make a good effort at finishing the plot of X3:reunion (I'd played alot, but barely touched the plot) and am finding it tough!

I'm only on the second mission, to Farnhams Legend to get back the Gem - Still in the original buster, with a bit of engine and rudder tuning, the standard Particle (beta) weapons and some Mosquito missiles, along with the Combat systems - as soon as the Pirates come out, I get absoloutely sledgehammered and blown to bits in about 15 seconds.

Now I'd been past this mission before, but that was not with the Xtended Mod... can anyone help with some advice? has anyone had this difficulty before? - it's only on Normal mode

ahh.. my bad - The Mod and script sections looked like more on the actual modding than the playing of the mod, and the other was tech support- so im unsure where this would go

Could a Moderator please move this if that is the case? Don't want to repost- thanks :)

can u capture ships like m6 or bigger in this mod with marines or whatever and do u get a repair laser cause that would be helpful

Yes, you can capture ships, but you don't have a repair laser.

Hi all! I've been lurking these forums since X:BTF, I am Lurker lvl 9000!

...Anyways, I've been playing X3:R with XTM .75 and after only being able to find snippets of information (in German I might add) on the subject I finally caught the "Unknown M6" or

Sohnen Mantis
using the Otas HCF Otas Custodian and a LOT of troops!

In doing so I also came up with a great tactic for capturing:

The Custodian is amazing! By filling the Custodian up with Flaks and PBEs it can shred capital shields very quickly, provide bullet proof fighter defense and hold all your spare troops and energy cells all while keeping your HCFs shields topped up!

The Mantis is incredibly powerful, it's no wonder it has something like 3600 internal defenses, the Sohnen Beam Cannons did not disappear after I captured the Mantis as I seen some people claim. It has the speed of a fast M3 and those cannons take down a destroyer in 2 charges from 5.6KM away! I just used it with my HCF (Which it docks inside just fine) to clear a Khaak sector except for one destroyer, claim the sector (Sector takeover script), then captured the last destroyer.
As you can see , my play through is nearing an end in what I can accomplish and I'm looking forward to starting TC and AP before rebirth releases.

I'm not sure how many people are interested in the finer details of how I accomplished this but feel free to ask any questions or if you would like a guide of sorts or tips for anything X3:R / XTM related then please do ask away!

I manage to finally capture the Mantis. The capping process took several hours. The problem is: after I capture it (in Unknown Sector near Unholy Descent) I send it to the nearest Trade dock. The Mantis was ~600km from the center of the sector so it took time to get there. In the meantime I did other things and suddenly I get a message from "Sohnen Collective" that they did not give me access to their tech and DESTROYED my Mantis. I didn't even test it. That is really frustrating. It also ruins my plans to capture Basilisk. I have no goal any more :(.

Can somebody point me to the script that creates this annoying event? Thanks.

PS. The captured Mantis also has Terran and Yaki as foe and I don't know how to change this.

No, the 0.75 Version has been out at least since "Last edited by Aragon Speed; 17-11-2009", copied from this thread .

I see, I downloaded mine about one year ago so it must be that one. The main menu screen however still says 0.74?

Test it! Go and shoot at a Rock Beetle. If you know afterwards why I warn you, then you have 0.75. If you don't see the point, you are still on 0.74. :D

Or - less funny - read the Changelog

I have been looking for several days, didnt find any so I had a look at the change log. Some of the changes on that list (the ones I have been able to check) seem to match my game so I guess Im on .75.

Another question - are universe traders not able to use the jumpdrive in terran sectors? They are level 14, have 25mj shields, jumpdrives, trade/fight softwares and even some fighter drones but they dont jump from one sector to another.

Does anyone know how to install XTM on the non-Cider Mac version of X3:R?. I've got everything unpacked out of the .exe but I don't know where in the X3:R directory to put the .cat, .dat, script files .ect

Hey pal! Sorry for the delay but I think I can advise you a little here.
Firstly, congrats! I know how much of a chore that is to cap and it's a shame that happened to you!

If I remember correctly, my Mantis went rogue when I wasn't in it, started flying away and attacking everyone on the way! I managed to transport into it and change it's friend foe settings. I didn't let this happen again. Essentially you can only use the Mantis as a player ship or left docked in a station or larger ship (I keep it in my HCF) otherwise it will go haywire and kill everything getting you into a lot of trouble in the process.

Not sure if you seen your Mantis get destroyed but it was at the hands of 2 'enemy' mantis that will hunt it down even if you're in it. They came for me a few times actually, guess I've killed a good half dozen of them now and I think (fingers crossed) that they've stopped coming!

How did you get your Mantis? Did you follow any of my tips?[/spoiler]
