Imperial Reign and Aulderons Demise. i know every little corner of that galaxy having lived there for the last 4 months. There are many hidden secrets too so I will leave that up to ppl to find. One of them is an all time biggie prize too. :)

Open the Cat file with the X3 mod manager. Then, their is a small tab at the bottom left that says "Info". Click that and you will be viewing the readme. Or you could just open up the readme in notepad or such. The readme was created by the author. :)

Or if you do not have the mod manager, place both the cat and dat file into the main X3 directory and rename them to the next available number (eg if the last cat and dat file is numbered is 08 then rename the gui one to 09) the gui is then an in-game false patch. :)

Sweet as i cant dl the mod manager atm probably to many people trying
so will go for the false patch idea

Im not sure what you mean all i have is the script installer, what is the mod manager?

I have now uploaded a new version of the GUI download. Contains all the same files as before, but has the readme outside of the .Cat file. Therefore doubleshadows X3 Mod Manager is no longer needed to view the readme.

Just extract the .rar and read the readme for instructions. :)


I hope that helps clear some things up.


Note: Cycrows X-Script installer is NOT a mod manager, but more of a script manager if you will. :wink:

i had figured it out, but thanks for the breakdown.... So far its smooth & stable everything seems to be running.. Let you know after i get into it :) :) You guys rock.. hell this whole forums rocks!!

Are there any docs on the custom starts? The mod documentation seems to have a few that you can't download, and is missing some that you can download...

well, the script manager does allow installing of mods as well, althou its not the mod manager they was talking about :)
