Can't join the guild

I found a outpost in a Teladi sector, when i landed i got a BBS message "Welcome to guild! etc" but the text of the message goes out of the message box. There's no button at bottom to pay the fee or anything else.

MODs &Scripts:

XTM 2.5
75 % of ships from cycrow web page (rebalanced)
Pilot AI
Assasing guild
Bailing Signal
BBS Extra
Bribe a Pilot
Fleet supply Command
Turret Commands Att Fighter/capital ships

EDIT : When activated in Xplug manager the game crashes fro mtime time, between 15-30 min of gameplay

Been using this script for ages now, absolutely love it. But I've recently encountered a strange problem. I've hit rank 5, where there is an M6 escorted by 4 M3's, but every time I kill the mark, it no longer registers that they have been killed?! I've gotten past rank 5 plenty of times before, this is the first game that this has ever happened to me! :(

If it helps, scripts I've got running are:

XTM 0.73a
Advanced Jumpdrive - by you
Auto Preacher - by Nividium
Crystal Free SPP - by Anarkis Federation
Salvage Claim Software - by you
Self Repairing Hull Technology - by LV
x0ne Turret Control System - by x0ne

Any idea what's causing it? I've used all these scripts with the Assassin's Guild before without any problems, and this is really making it unenjoyable when I can't get paid for it.

EDIT - Don't worry, it's just started working again for no apparent reason. Haven't done anything to change it, so I'm utterly confused. Happened about 10 or so times, and now it works. Strange.

Being new to X3 and in complete ignorance (during a moment of madness), I had too many scripts running and it killed my FPS in "busy" sectors. Several of the scripts running were the Guild scripts which duely and correctly created various stations dotted about various sectors. Having removed the scripts it left these stations empty but present - no problem there I thought as it was adding to the diversity in each sector.

The questions I have are:

1). As I now want to re-enable some of these scripts, as I like the look of them, am I going to get even more Guild stations created ?.....or is it clever enough to re-use/recycle the ones that were created before ?

2). If I do end up with Assign Guild stations all over the Universe as common as a famous coffee shop (name fits eh!) what's the easiest way to remove them without disturbing my game?

hi, was interested in this script, the only one im using at the moment. bbs told me a guild post was in great trench, ive found it, but when I land there I get no messages to join. any ideas where ive gone wrong?

Firstly, are you playing the Bankrupt Assassin start? If so, Cycrow has added a little thingy into that start to make you part of the guild from the start.

Secondly, I don't think it's guaranteed to turn up everytime until you join, so you can just keep loading the auto save from docking at the station until you get the message.

were u able to scroll down on the message to get the rest of it ?

the script should recognise the old ones and use them instead of creating more, the script does attempt to maintain upto 10 stations, so destroying some will mean more are created elsewhere

in the AL Settings menu, there is an option to turn off the spawning of stations for all the guilds. Disablling this will also cause the stations to be removed.

you can disable then renable this and the old stations will be removed and replaced with new ones elsewhere

Correct yeah, due to how the BBS system works in X3, the message doesn't always appear, best you can do is keep checking back until its there.

its got a high priority so it should appear fairly soon, but like most things in X, it can be fairly random. Finding a few stations is the best solution as you can fly between them to until you find it.

once joined however, you should find the missions fairly often

i do have a little bit of a triffle with it (sorry, but crittasioms is good when it means well, please don't scould me with boiling water :oops: )

i just hate having to land at a station to get a mission (race millatry in perticular) you in roled so the should have you comm number, so whay can't the just beam you the task at hand and you go YES/NO to it, cause i hate the BBS TBH

but its brill i feel i have a place in the Xverse now i am in the milatry

well the script was designed to use the BBS, so thats just how it works.

tbh, i dont think it would work too well as an incomming message, it just wouldn't feel right

I just downloaded and installed the script and on my first mission my target bailed from his ship, but I got a a message for completion of the mission along with experience and pay before I killed the ejected pilot. I thought I had to kill them to finish the mission?

Edit: Also sometimes the mission is completed without completely destroying the target ship.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

Negative, there's no scroll option.
BTW i get also readtext 7122 instead of text. Happens also to Ware converter(Nividium) and Arena Deathmatch (LV)

i found that readtext happen when theres no EMP, but XTM already has it.
I even installed EMP for 2.02 and it changed nothing.

Any help is welcome

its possible the french text file is missing some of the text.

i cant remember when they actually got translated, so they could be using old versions. so it has missing text.

you could try to compare the entries with the english version and see whats missing

Readtext BUG SOLVED

I checked polish forum and i found out that they often got that problem.
All i did i to open xml file and change the language id from 44 to 33 - french.

Now i see nice green boron ship hull repair system as well Deathmatch arena in AL menu, i had readtextes there before too . Now i have to wait if i get correct message feedback thru BBS.

One question remains, for ware replicator the file is .pck how i change it to xml?

XTM w/ Assassins Guild

I have been using this script and love it. However I am playing with XTM .73 and was wondering if there was a way to have the new ships included with the MOD to be included on the various missions? As it stands they only seem to include the basic ships that come with X3 and it would really spice things up if included all the XTM ships.

it uses a set of library scripts to pick what ships to use.

unfortuatlly i never got round to adapting them to work with the latest version of XTM.

it did work with the old version and used the additional ships but not the new one.

if you want, you can add them manually to the scripts. Its fairly straight forward to add them

i have been working on a better ship selection library, but its not ready
