===========================================

So you want to become a smuggler ?
This script will add a smugglers guild that you can join to make you profits from smuggling illegeal goods.

1. Joining the Guild

Joining the guild is easy, you just look on the BBS for the Smugglers guild and it will allow you to join when paying the one time fee.
You will find these messages in pirate stations and stations that produce illegeal goods, ie Space fuel distillery

2. Guild Level

Once joined the guild, you will have a level how well well your respected within the guild, this level can be viewed by going to you ships
"additional commands" slots and selecting the option for, View Guild Status

3. Black Market

The black market allows you to sell illgeal goods to the trading stations. The black market will appear on the BBS when your docked at a trading station.
The black market wont always show as, as the guild doesn't always buy the goods ;)

To sell, just select the goods you want to sell, it will give you a list of what it will buy and the price they will pay

4. Pirate Black Market

The pirate black market is avaialble from the BBS at pirate stations, where your able to buy illegeal goods from the pirates
some of the goods available wont be able to buy anywhere else, like hackerchips and narcotics. These can be sold at the
black markets in trading stations.

5. Missions

Wanted Ware:
At various stations, you will get requires for someone wanting a number of illgeal wares to be deleivered to them.
Your mission is to find these wares and delivery them back to the station to complete the mission. You will be paid
for each ware you return and a bonus on top if you manage to get them all.
Higher level missions will give you high bonuses

Deliever ware:
Found at pirate stations, you will be requested to deliver some illgeal wares into populated sectors, the wares will be loaded into your cargo
hold when you accept the mission and you have to dock at the target station to complete the mission, beware of police patrols.

6. Artifical Life Settings

In in the artifical life settings you can turn on or off the extra police patrols in sectors
Disabling will rmeove the patroling ships from the universe
* NOTE: it takes abit of time to remove all ships as it runs slowly in the background to prevent slowing down the game

===========================================

Future:

* Chance the black market is a ctaully police and you get caught===========================================

Again, very nice work!

How about having several smugglers guilds across the universe each one competing with the others and having different stances towards each other? How about special equipment sold to certain high ranking members? Fixing the reputation with a race? A mission to destroy one or two ships from the mercenaries? How about having several mercenaries guilds, too?

The cost of admission is perhaps too high...

how about from time to time, the goods sold were NOT paid, resulting in a loss of money for the player...?

Hmmm... some big brother net-nanny is blocking your site (DNS) from me probably because of the name. IP addy works fine.

Anyone else having a prob with the links to Cycrow's scripts?

You might want to put your IP addy in the links in case anyone else has a problem getting your excellent scripts. Unless its just my connection :gruebel: in which case never mind as I got around it.

Anyway, thank you, your scripts add alot to the game. 8)

They can essencialy be the same, only called differently and operating mainly in different areas of the universe, having distinct relations with different races...

Cycrow, i love what you are doing to the game, you are making it so much more immersive and most of all, FUN!
There is no need to run around in SETA anymore, you can actually explore and check out various trading stations for cool missions to do, i lub u :D :D

Great idea and script.

Is it possible that when your level rises it can make the gong noise and the medal appear like when you level up in combat or trading?

Ditto with your other two guild scripts.

Cycrow: A critique. I think its a little too simple haveing it function as an illegal market. I mean having someone on hand to buy my cargo of space fuel (twice what the trading station demanded total) and at a good price is useful. But the convenience factor is too high. I think that it should direct you take the cargo to another nearby station (or if you want to get fancy rendevousing with a ship) and delivery there would give you the monies. And of course the chance of customs stings would be awesome.
Although the new Wanted Ware mission sounds fun :)

well, what i was thinking was to make it so they will limit the number they buy from you, so you wont always just be able to get there and empty your cargo hold.

i will have to have a think of how to balance it out abit, maybe making them deleiver it to another station might work

one way i was thinking of is limiting the profits in the border worlds, and it make so you have to goto the core sectors to get the decent prices, then increase the police presents in the core sectors so you have to be careful not to get caught

but i will have to look into these :)

If you do it by setting stations as destinations, you can simplify that by a chance of spawning extra customs ships in the sector (or something like that) until the mission is failed or succeeded.
