Personal Ships
Split Python. Codename : Blade of Glory
Split Raptor. Codename : Sword of Ancients
Arrow. Codename : Speedbike
Hyperion. Codename : HyperiONE

Assets
GAMMARAY Prime: A Boron Ray fully kitted with Gamma PPC in Paranid Prime
Sword of Montalaar: Split Raptor with Attack All Enemy command
A Nova LDR: Argon nova found on carrier with Ion Distruptor installed. Another wing of Paranid LDR has PSG on board....

Elephant Split Horizon: An Elephant that hold E-Cells and flying horizontaly near to Family Pride as Police Patroller

Factory/Complex names
HWSnS: A self sufficent complex with High Weapon Systems and Shield

Split Paradise: A (mostly) self sufficent complex which has secondary products for the Split food production

Boron HT: A (mostly) self sufficent factory based on Boron foodstuff to produce High Tech products that can be sold at Boron space. Often combined with Secondary Products sold to Borons

DM: Depeche Mode ....(giggle)A Drogerie Market found in Teladi space for illegal products

WEED: Another type for illegal goods used as Pirate magnet in Unknown Sectors. After they bought goods, on their route back they are scanned in House sectors to improve reputation with the local race.

Hidden POWER: Simple powerplant off-set from the sector center, behind the gate at the direction of the sun

I've Kept mine military based for role play.
Argon specific.

Carrier: Argon II
Nova Sentinels- Sentinel 1 through 10
Nova Vanguards- Vanguard 1-20
Nova Raiders- Nova 1-20
Titans: Federal Unity, Federation One
Cerberus: Ore Belt Patrol Frigate

Very bland and plain but very easy to track once you have over 400 ships.
I do the same for TL's
I do have my own personal Phantom I use and it is custom named though.

Stations are formed into tight complex hubs so Shield Fabrication Hub, Heavy weapons Hub Ect.

But like I said that's only how I do it because I am playing a military campaign right now, once I transition into a Corporate mode ill decide the name and rename accordingly.

Mine a bit more confusing... but very useful for me


I number each ship + class and also including names tagged on the end for personal touchs


FOR INSTANCE

A fighter on one of my TM's

Would be M3 W1 TM3 L1 (m3 class, wing one, TM 3, loudout 1) and when they are being serviced a *RnR* tag is on the end of THAT.


Sounds confusing. but once u got it all in ur head, you never have to worry bout confusing ships


Corvette ships im having a few problems classifying them, they are half capital protection, half hunter-killer, so i just leave them as M6 "Name"


And freighters are somewhat simpler..

Very logical actually, I might take that idea for my TL's as I tend to get them confused unless I name them something silly like
Nos for Gauss
Nostrip oil for Gauss canon forge.

You way is better and fits more of a militaristic naming policy.

I've been naming my Megalodon gate-blockade ships after fictional dragons (Drogon, Meraxes, Eurybatres, Skye... )

Meanwhile, my Aquilo fleet uses various superiority-related names (Ascension, Transcendence, Excelsis, ...) fitting for the most powerful ship class in the game.

Most of my other ships are either unnamed or use utilitarian names, but I do name my personal ships (Xtremisis for the overturned Cobra I'm using to steadily approach Fight-rank Xtreme, Displaced Optimum for the Poisoned Paranid Hyperion - named after I settled for 202 m/s, and Stolen Fire for the Springblossom I bought from the Terrans, after rebuilding my rep from Enemy of Sol)

It is not about better or worse but over 100 WAX and 20 EQdock or HighTech shop forced me to do so. I have no idea why WAX anyway ;p
Another good idea can be if you
Antigone's Mining Group - 1 billion. Which makes sense at first but later you forget the exact age of that complex.
I have few specialised shipname aswell. Fear, Cry, Terror and on n on. An M2 group of Blades (python). Sometimes i like to call them to arms to take out Xenon sectors but honestly after the ride there is no saving game ;p Who is brave enough to vaste hours of "goto there and buy this and that and Transfer weapons and shields to the newest replaced M2.
Hyperions of *sectorname* all over the place as Police Patrolers supported with SWORDS (Raptors) and every House sector which has capitals i have a GAMMARAY there.
Pirate sectors has a Sword with *firstsectorname* Millitary Hyperion North, refer to the gate. Sad thing we no longer able to set up waypoints for police patrollers inside any given sector. This explain why i wrote that Reunion forexample.
Fire Millitary Hyperion LDR going "circles" inbetween the gates.

edit:
I must mention that i have 400 day All vanilla *modified* by Custom Universe Start. Nonstop Hyperion production since ~200 day lead to 209 of them protecting "every" gate except inside Xenon sectors OFC :D
Sandbox still working and if i remove my M1s, M2s from any sector then that turning into living hell with swarming Pirates.

Dang that's a long game, I had to start over with 2.0 and lost intrest. I came back to it via AP and have a 68 day Vanilla unmodified with roughly 200 stations and 300 ships, I have not started production of anything yet, just Reverse engineering the ships I want.

Right now I only have
1 carrier and 2 battle ships that patrol pirate sectors as well.
Of course they are protected by H Centaurs and fighters but I also have a Cerberus sitting on Xenon 101's gate. Hoping to clear that sector soon as they tend to bleed out into surrounding sectors and mess with my freighters.
