let's play a DiD?

Hey guys and girls,

I have tried to read a few stories on this forum and enjoyed every one of them. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to read them all

But about my question, has anyone ever tried to make a sort of DiD on the youtube? sort of let's play of the game? That way people could also see how you play the game.

i think there have been a few attempts at it

the main problem seems to always come down to 2 words

Travelling time

a full stream usually becomes a pain because alot of it is traveling, which lets face it. is BORING,

Also the problem of explaining your every action to the people

Which gets annoying for some, enjoyable for others..

But anyways.

Will there be more attempts and perhaps succeses?

I dont think it would be very enjoyable.When your reading a DID you are imaging the characters,the voices,when you watch a DiD on youtube you will only here 1 voice,also how do you show what happens off ship.For myself i would find no pleasure in watchijng 1.

Maybe not a full DiD on Youtube, but if a story is being told here on the forum there's nothing stopping us using youtube to upload videos of the action, the same way many of us upload screenshots. I don't know how well it would work without testing it, but it's something to consider.

I've seen a few LP's but they never get much love since, as most have pointed out, they are quite dull to watch - especially the grind at the beginning, who'd want to watch hours of a mercury flying from station to station selling cells?

About the best you can hope for is something like this. I'd love to see more - but there is only a handful of decent ones out there.

Yeah mixing the writing with a videolog of a battle could be fun. Because as other people here said, in the beginning it is hard to watch someone fly around and do boring missions.

I plan on making something when Rebirth comes out. I now have a awesome green screen setup at home, which hopefully soon have the ability to have a studio chroma key available. Im currently learning to write short story's and such, and hopefully soon adapt them to this universe

Well I know of a few, you may want to check out on youtube. TheZemalf is doing a long lets play, Pasifist Trader. Not DiD tho... he's playing it as Much as slow pace and Roleplay as he can so it's entertaining. With new videos every weekend.

Anyway it's his work that inspired me so I'm also attempting a DiD Let's play of Terran Conflict,... and I will probably play Albilon Prelude once I'm done with TC. It's a newer Let's Play, but I'm releasing new videos daily.
