This is my small contribution to the story as a tribute and an early application for his next adventure.

*Excerpt from Combat log of Gabriel 'Trigger' Falconsky in Hades "Experiencing a Significant Gravitas Shortfall"*

I checked the gravidar for hostiles. Still nothing. In his eagerness to take the Tyr Steve had forgotten to assign someone to cover his back so I'd taken on the job of flying CAP around the prize. The comm crackled.

"Let's get a jumpdrive on this boat and get the hell out of here!"

Through the cheering I noticed an energy spike on his sensors.

"Sir, I'm detecting a..."

And it was gone.

Still in shock, I returned to base with a few others that escaped. Without Steve in control the authorities would no doubt be after us so i decided to lay low.

Sir, if your reading this then contact me on the attached com address if you want to offer me a new job.

*End Log*

Thank You N-S for another fantastic read.[ external image ]

Wanton Use of Nukes pdf?

Post by Idleking » Mon, 18. Jan 10, 23:52

If noone has applied to compile this epic story in a pdf-file, I'd be happy to do it.

Greetz

By the way:
Who said it ends with capping the Tyr?
As far as I can remember the rules and goals, none of them tell something like "take control of a Tyr and game ends" :?

It wasn't one of the original rules - N-S called a halt to the story, since he hasn't got time to play due to real life commitments - which he doesn't forsee changing in the immediate future.

Yep. Which also means that, not only is this story over, but there isn't likely to be another one to replace it.

I bow to the commitment, the effort, the storytelling skills, and the playing skills, you put into this(and your other stories). I read your stories, one after another, and each chapter put up a huge smile on my face,or had me with gnarling teeths because of tension.
Brightening my evenings, even after hard working days, is not achieved easily. But you sir, did just that .

Thanks for all the entertainment

And i hope, this was not your last Adventure, :D

And also, +1 To Egosoft Hiring N-S as a storywriter. He does an excellent job.

You did..

Suprisingly few losses actually. Apparently enveloping the Tyr in a cloud of Wasps did the trick fairly well..

Yoink might do it if you all ask him very nicely, he did a fairly stellar job the last time.

Thanks for another very entertaining read.

I hope you continue to persue writing in one form or another, because you
certainly know how to tell a story.

Good on ya. :)

Good to know I lived to be vaporized another day.

On that day, with a full wing of talented and loyal pilots at his command, a slightly insane Paranid fighter pilot began his search for a new employer...

All shall fear he who dodges ducks

Of course, what will happen is all those who were under Steve's command will descend into an orgy of flying plasma, exploding ships and dying pilots, as we all make our cases for who will make the best deputy leader.

NS, if RL ever cools down, wouldn't it be interesting if Steve managed to escape from terran space for a SECOND time? Would be interesting to see a veteran have to rebuild his empire, and you could pull off the cranky old man POV!!!

Thanks for a wonderful story. Hope to see ya around the forums.
