somehow I feel as if someone said I'm the bad guy :D *why?*

New designs can mean using old bodies; I guess that's why EGO made those parts so easy to connetc to each other ;)
At least you're re-texturing them, so it's not pure old suff!
For my part I think new stuff is adding a complete new model - I preffer working like that. Maybe the ships wont always look as good as the Vanilla ships do, but that's only because they don't have the same caracteristic look. If I like my model I use it and maybe someone else likes it too. :)
So don't mind if someone sais "crap, do us a favoure and stop!" - I would never do that, because I know, someone (without saying it) likes it ;)

I can't argue with that one Chris.

I did not mean X2 is old and boring. What I ment was, yes it is the community that has kept this alive but, we are at a peak where the numbers of great modders have started to fall. This is where we need younger level of modders to come onto the scene.

From memory there are three mods in construction that I know of they are;
Top Gun
Pandora
and this

Do not get me wrong, I would never say someones work is 'crap' either. You can model and skin all I know how to do is basic skinning therefore, your skill surpasses mine easily. This mod is still young and as a X2 player I would like to see this guided in a direction that everyone enjoys it.

So let's talk superweapons :P

Are we going to go up against something that can totally Noobify all our ships? I always liked the idea of Khaak or Xenon creating a fleet killer which led to an epic battle which required me to mass a huge fleet while having to pay for this myself. Many people do not play without cheats so something like this would mean more play time.

The best advice I think is for everyone to mention what they like to see best in mods, this gives you an idea on how you can balance out your mod for everyones needs and especially your own.

I am actually working on a mod for Rome: Total War and I am so close to giving up on it as it is not going the way I planned it. So make sure you have some of your own needs and please, please don't give up.

I think we have asked too, but noone seems interested. So if you don't get any feedback too, just read the threads that are arround (that's what we're doin). So you can get a feeling of what people like / dislike. (the only thing is they will still have to wait :P )
Don't you think too that it's strange that noone wants to post in "open-mod-Threads" what they want? It's just... I've seen that later when a Version of the mod comes out that there are requests about "I want..." that never were mentioned before :? :D

This is a good idea. But this shouldn't be discussed in this thread. I will open a thread as soon as I have more time than I have at this very moment.

I'd mostly agree with that comment. Just make sure that you're fair in how you change the configuration. And... I think it would be kool if we could design ships within x2 rather than outside of it. Is that possible?

You thought if enough standard game bodies parts to creating all new ships ?, in game are quite enough bodies parts. We use all possible standard game bodies parts to creating new ship designs to looks unique different from original game ships design, as possible.
We are almost finished creating small ships (m5-m3, ts ...), because not much unique, different design variations are left. Next we will start creating big ships (M0, M1, M2, TL, M6).

The best ships to be named M0 that I have seen are either the Sovereign or the Boron Royale.

I think that M0 class ship must be biggest ship in the Universe and of course with strongest weapon power.

Me personally I favour the M0 being a one shot killer. I know someone in the German forum was doing something like this for TC I think it was. Judging from the picture they was in the middle of creating a one hit killer.

We had some troubles with our super-large models and we had to short them down, because X2 doesn't support ships at a specific size. If they are too big the Ki can't handle them anymore! Dont make them too big ;)

The size of two titans should do really. Nothing to huge. I know the Boron Royale is huge and that managed to work. Try and work it around that size.

We created more 13 ships, look at new ships screenshots.
A few ships was modified because we found some bugs-errors for ships length, we shorten few ships and bugs-errors was fixed.

I found problems with ships length (only small ships M5-M3, TS, TP), if ship are too long and you dock in the station, first ship does't move (speed on max but ship don't move), then wen you press Esc button and you are in the station menu, ships front was inside the inner station dock part. Inner station dock part are 00874 body, all ships who has docked inside the station stay in the center of part 00874, when you creating ships you must check ships lenght.
Easy way to do this open ships scene in 3Dmax and open dock part 00874, then you see if ships are too long or not.

What I meant was a couple of the TS picks I saw they look as big as M6 ship verry tall and wide. how do you get through the front door? :?

I'll guess he has resized the bodies ;) there are several ships where you can see that the bodies have been resized
