Mine arrived this morning, so my first game experience was V1.2.

what can i say, 1 word..... WOW

Running on a P4 3G - 2Gig corsair pc3200 - and my trusty ATI 9800 PRO = Silk, just like X2. Graphics are stunning tbh. Voice overs seem waaaaaaay better than X2. LOVE The lack of cockpits. LOVE X3.

Wow, thanks! Besides the actual 1.2 release, this is the best news I've heard today. :D
In that case it's indeed a good job with the patch. :)
I can't believe Egosoft have got a patch ready for release day, that is really really good customer service -I'm impressed.
Meanwhile, blood from whips in the developer cubicles are starting to dry up on the office floors, while an Evil PR Guy calmly claims they're always looking to please their fans... :D

I'm loving it.

Never saw it unpatched but at 1.2 it's great.

Funny things still in there though. Suzy's still on the runaround.

looking at details of my Discoverer and the computer lady tells me about it having 2 lasers while I'm looking at 6 of them. I guess they just havent updated all the old sound files.
So far very well liking it though despite a bit of chop in the combat sim.
Always welcome! Cheap and filling!

Yesterday I was really narked especially after spending my day off trying to get X3 working. X3 was reminding me of Frontier with the constant crashing ect.

I managed to get the patch this morning before work and had to have a little go ;)

Now X3 is running almost as well as X2 was (just a few stutters when Argon 1 was on a flyby).

One of my students was arriving as I was a little late and we had to laugh because we both said at the same time "So you had to try the patch too" :D

So, sorry about yesterday I was wrong and for that I do appologise.

I heard in German Forums, that most of the NVIDIA-cardusers have problems. Ati/radeon not that mutch. But that was before the patch, does it run now on the NVIDIA systems, too? (I have a 9800 Pro now and want to buy a 6800LE, 'cause of that I want to know, if it will be a clever option?!)

It should run fine on ATI or Nivida now.

Panasonic, the verdict on that was somewhat related to the errors before the patch, but also that nvidia users need to update to the very newest drivers, either 81.85 or beta drivers 81.87 to fix stuttering problems, in most every game :P

Charming, you have to have IE6 set as your default browser in order for the update page to work from that button. Nice one....

Well, that's good news - frankly, I was a bit miffed when I heard the initial reviews, what with the poor performance and all, not to mention all the CTDs. However, if 1.2 is half as good as you all make it out to be, then perhaps I should cease regretting my pre-order and hope that my rig will be up to the task of running X3 in its full visual glory.

Wow, sounds like the patch has really transformed the game

I'm just downloading it now. Can't wait to get my joystick working at last :D

After installing Patch 1.2 : No joystick problems, no crashes, no obvious bugs.
Good work Egosoft.

Once again a new game is rushed onto the shelves and has major bugs-i don't call CTD's or issues with Joystick control minor. What happened to testing? It's like the first new house I purchased-the plaster and paint was still wet on the walls. This is the pursuit of revenue. I'm surprised that the X2 experience did not filter through to X3-X2 had serious bugs on release. I hope that X3 produces a more playable experience. I mean I don't get CTD's with Spellforce, Doom3 or any other games I can think of. I feel patches should be used to enhance the gaming experience or correct minor glitches not major programing flaws-get it mostly right-you have an obligation BEFORE you take any money.
