When I was installing XP it claimed it was the fastest version of windows yet to boot and shut down.

My old WinMe was twice the speed, is this right?

I have noticed a considerable difference in speed especially on the shut down. Sometimes it takes forever?

In the main I have found WinXP to be faster at loading (course this can depend on whst you have in your startup prefs), but I am under the impression that WinXP takes longer to close down!
