X3R Universe Trader Behaviour

As I am in lockdown I decided to fire up X3 Reunion with Xtended installed. I invested in the Mercury you are given and set up a UT which is now level 9. The strange thing is though, is it is stuck in a really annoying loop where it just buys 3 warheads in Argon Prime and sells them in the same sector making little money and not levelling up. Has anyone had this behaviour before and know what to do? I am thinking of setting it to a different sector but don’t want this behaviour to repeat. Could it be because I only have a small satellite network? Though I didn’t think they really care about these things. Have I misunderstood UT behaviour at this level and set it up badly?
Not sure how active this area of the site is and how many X3 players are around but would like to here your stories.
Update: moved to another area and now it is just buying a different product from the next sector but is only buying like double digit numbers of the ware.
