X3:TC Simple Quest. re: CAG

If I give my CAG an order to dock at an EQ so I can upgrade something on his ship, while he's carrying out his duties, do I afterwards just select "Start Comm. Agent" to send him back to what he was doing? Want to ensure that I don't re-start with brand new pilot, or change any settings, etc.

Just don't ever use a CLS/CAG pilot for temporary Trader duties using Mk 3 Trade Software such as for Sector Trader as the pilot will indeed start from scratch, whether as Mk3 Trader or for CLS/CAG. (I don't put Mk3 Trade software on my CLS/CAG ships.) Swapping between CAG and CLS is fine though.
The same principle applies for experienced Mk3 Trader pilot going to temporary rookie CLS/CAG duties and losing all their Trader expertise.
