Stations friendly to me but hostile to some of my ships.

I have this problem with some of my ships.

I cannot buy some wares from stations when using some of my ships, for ex. my Guppy or my Panther, if I order some freighter to do the job they can.

It is as if the races owning the stations like me but discriminate against some vessels, in fact if I dock into the Guppy in some sectors all the factories turn red.

I think I had a similar problem years ago but I don't remember how I dealt with it.

Check your friend-or-foe settings on those ships. If you attacked, say, a Paranid vessel, while you were flying a certain ship sometimes the friend or foe settings treat Paranids like an enemy unless you go in and manually fix the issue.

Some ship classes require capital ship docking clamps. Guppy and Panther are both M7s so can only dock at equipment docks, military outposts and shipyards.

Also i advise you check your global friend-foe settings.

I don't think it's a global friend-foe settings issue because the stations are only turning red for the Guppy. I'm guessing the dude did an assassination mission for a Pirate faction with the Guppy, and attacked something associated to one of the major Commonwealth races. Made that mistake once or twice myself.

Do check the global friend-foe settings of course, but if you look in the command menu for the Guppy it has its own friend-foe settings, and I suspect that's actually where the issue is.

As for the other point, yes, certain stations cannot dock capital ships, including all the production factories for raw materials, goods and equipment, as well as Trading Docks.

Thank you all for the info.

Regarding the Guppy, it has nothing to do with the friend/foe setting and just for the record Imgran; I have killed lots of people but I have not assassinated anybody.

I am sure I have had the problem with the same ship in a previous playthrough, it matters not, being docked in a Guppy is not a necessity.

The other problem, I should have known better having played the game before and as a matter of fact I did. The Guppy's made think it was a game's error, instead it was me malfunctioning.

Also be aware that the game can show differing relationships and 'memories' within a faction that can be considered as either global or asset-specific aspects and so are not necessarily always the same. You can be best of friends with another faction and while all shows as OK while you are in one ship, some of their ships or stations show as hostile while you are in another ship with exactly the same settings.

This can become most evident where you capture a ship, say a pirate one, but some assets of the race you are friends with still hate that particular ship because of its past history. I think your Guppy might have seen some criminal behaviour in its past.

Here's an old thread where others including the OP here have discussed this before.

I knew I shouldn't have trusted that mollusc faced Boron at the shipyard when he said: "... previously just one careful owner, an old lady who used it for her circle of pensioners activities..."

ps. @Alan:
I "featured" on the thread you mentioned, now I remember I had an even more serious problem with a Susanova.
