Hello,

Anyone know an easy way to get the TLs to get to the nearest shipyard?

I am in Grand Exchange, and the TL there doesnt give me the option to hire him. So I go to another sector and get a paranid TL, bring him all the way to teladi space and then ask him to go to shipyard... he says ok, the aimlessly flys off into the distance.. I have been trying for over an hour to get him to dock.... What the hell....

Leave the sector - that lets him navigate without worrying about collisions.

Make sure you have enough funds for each gate he goes through, especially after you purchase your station.
Otherwise he will consficate the station as payment.

When I hired the mammoth it was listed as my property until the job was done. Maybe giving orders through your property menu will work better.

Elephant is nice, so is the Ryu. (Ryu is my preferred board.) I also like the Orca. It's 21 m/s slower than the Elephant, but only 10,000 cargo lighter than the Mammoth. And it's far cheaper than the Mammoth. (Unless you're boarding, then they're all more or less free.)

No need to buy one. There's plenty of free ones floating around.

The TL there doesn't let you hire? I wonder if that's one of the citizen TLs (casino, hospital ship, something like that). You need to find the supply TL - you can hire that one. If you can't find it, it could be off placing a station somewhere or the Xenon could have blown it away. You could go east then south to hire one in Queen's Retribution.

With 30 million you can buy any TL you want, too. Mammoths are great but will use up almost all your credits - an Orca is almost as good and quite a bit cheaper. Go down to Queen's Ret and buy one, then send it south one sector and buy a jump drive for it. That will let you do those station building missions *real* easy for big money.

Of course, if you have NO RESPECT AT ALL FOR NPC RIGHTS, then I suppose you could MURDER the UNARMED crew of some TL and fly it yourself. Better bring nose plugs and some bleach for wiping their guts off the cockpit window.

NPCs have rights? :o

Occasionally a supply TL won't let you hire them if they are already
on a contract. Eg replacing a station someone has, erm, accidently destroyed.

Of course if that's the case and you board them, you can get a free
station into the bargain.

Oh, I see how it is. You're going to ignore their rights just because they are reality challenged!
