I didn't use a hotkey, but anytime the escorts were destroyed, by me, by themselves, by Kha'ak, etc, they just respawned in the middle of M148.Triaxx2 wrote:TM escorts, the number one cause of the Destroy Target Hotkey.

Hi,
I'm new here and aren't sure if this is a known fact, but haven't read it anywhere yet.
If you find those escort convoy missions too tedious, just don't go to the Unknown sector when you get the mission. Instead, jump one of your other ships there by the East gate. You will see the convoy ships on the sector map and they will start moving. Order your (other) ship to escort one of the convoy ships (or don't, it doesn't matter; no enemies will show up). SETA. Voila!

Thanks for the tip Duke, it made the escort mission the easiest among all OFF plot missions after going thru a few times clearing those Ks.
btw Spike, i noticed that as long as 1 convoy made it through the mission will complete.
Just like to add, by chance, I completed one of my last 'protect the secret forward military base missions' without jumping there lol.
? After acknowledging the return to base message, I docked at the M143 military outpost, received the message and took about 2mins to check out my marines training progress + looking out for those high fighting skills ones for hire when i received the 'thank you and well done warrior messages' from the Split commander. I still earn the OFF rank points but no extra credit reward.

Is there any tip anyone can give me to finish the last mission ?
When I'm in range of one guardian, my poor Vidar don't last very long. I tried to stay with a M7 sent by the split but they are eventually killed so it's me against rest of Khaak's world, which is a lot for a single M6.
I also have a Springblossom, but I don't think it would be very useful, and I don't even talk about the Truelight Seeker.
In other words, I really have no idea how I can wipe that sector :/

You need a bigger ship. In my experience Khaak capitals are almost impossible to defeat in anything smaller than an M7. So get an M7, or even better an M2, before attempting to enter that sector.Excelsior82 wrote:Is there any tip anyone can give me to finish the last mission ?

So give the last mission a rest for a while & go and 'acqire' an M7 from a 'return abandoned ship' missionExcelsior82 wrote:It's exactly what I feared... M7 and M2s are costing an eye and I'm not that rich

The other possibility, Excelsior82, is to load up your vidar with wraith missiles. They may be hard to find, but not impossible--they can be fired from a solid distance (50,000 klicks out) and swarm the defenses. Their ware volume is only 1, so with 950 cargo bay even with max shields, mamls and maml ammo and jump fuel, you can carry a solid amount.
I defeated the final battle in a vidar (once). It may have to do with the fact that I popped into the sector far enough away from the first Kha'ak M1s that I could stay out of their range. I just ignored them and went for the first target. I had stockpiled 103 wraiths and some number of poltergeists for the smaller ships, and had my vidar mostly kitted out with mamls except for the turrets.
So, it can be done.

Reporting a bug with the start of the 2nd chapter, where you gotta scan and protect the ship while it builds ore mines.
The Mammoth was heavily damaged by the Kha'ak and I think its cargo was destroyed, now its just flying around in circles not doing anything. Been doing this for an Hour now in SETA.

Do you mean the NPC TL? Colossus is an M1... If so, and if you don't mind the rep loss... either abandon the mission and start over, or destroy the NPC TL so it sends you another one.KewlCrayon wrote:Reporting a bug with the start of the 2nd chapter, where you gotta scan and protect the ship while it builds ore mines.

If you mean *your* ship by 'Colossus,' then I'd just reload and try again without getting hit so much.

If the TL gets damaged I think it goes into a bit of a loop--the ship's normal AI keeps telling it to return to a shipyard for repair, but the mission script keeps overriding that; hence flying in circles. All you can really do is either reload, or "encourage" the Kha'ak to finish the job and destroy the TL--a second one will be sent shortly after.

Yeah I tried to blow it up, went hostile. Tried to let the Kha'ak kill it, but it kept flying around in the argon sector, that has 2 capitol ships and a bunch of M6's guarding the gate.pjknibbs wrote:If the TL gets damaged I think it goes into a bit of a loop--the ship's normal AI keeps telling it to return to a shipyard for repair, but the mission script keeps overriding that; hence flying in circles. I just restarted the mission, and cleared out all the Kha'ak myself before scanning the final asteroid.
Sorry, meant Mammoth. There was also a colossus flying around the argon sector that I had mistaken the name with.builder680 wrote:Do you mean the NPC TL? Colossus is an M1... You mean Argon Sector M148? The TL shouldn't be there at all. Nor should it be in Nathan's Voyage, the other Argon sector bordering the Unknown Sector.
