We know they are working on "The Next Big Thing". This was referred to in an article by Bernd about his working day that appeared in an earlier editio of X-Universe news. It isn't an "X" game, but it is a space simulation!

There are some interesting hints at what might be coming on pages B-27 to B-30 of the English language version of the X Encyclopedia that came with the X-Superbox.

EDIT: Oops, that's right, I keep forgetting Egosoft's in the habit of bundling new updates into old catalogues. Disregard, then.

That's not correct, those changes were made in 2.7, not 3.0. They are just shipped in same cat, which is 12. ;-)

On the page you mentioned...
This update brings new content and features to the game.

Version 3.0 features:

* The 3.0 Plot Mission 'Balance of Power'
* Dead-is-Dead gamemode (STEAM only)
* Reward for Operation Final Fury
So, should we assume these are all the changes that were made in 3.0?

There's seems to be some little things fixed too.

I noticed that the freight drones collect all wares more efficiently now. They don't just circle around in a loop all day and they don't wait so long to get on to the next ware floating in space.

The Blastclaw Prototype seams to fly with a bit of common sense now too. Maybe it's just me seeing where there is not. Things seem more polished but I noticed a very slight hit in frame rate though. Probably because of improved auto-pilots for all ships in sector.

Questions:

Post by jason18 » Sun, 10. Oct 10, 05:08

What is Dead-is-Dead mode all about? And where can I find/play "Operation Final Fury" at? I don't see this mission arc in the default story mission list in the X3: Terrian Conflict mission menu? I own the Steam version of X3: Terrian Conflict by the way.

Dead is Dead = if you die, you start all over. No reloading to get a better outcome.

As for the mission starts and prerequisites: FAQ.

Hints are scattered around these forums now. If you want to do beta testing, all you have to do is sign up at the bottom of your profile for Level 3.Then wait for the devs to let us have something to test.
Or sign a Non-disclosure form to be actively involved at level 5.

I think we can safely say that it (TNBT) will be in an X-based universe, but not quite as we know it.( But I could be wrong).

Thank you, Egosoft, for this patch. I liked the concept of acquiring normally unobtainable blueprints, but getting fighter ships to bail was rather tiresome and annoying considering how the bailing algorithm works.

Anyway, an X3TC player can never have too many blueprints, so thank you again.

P.S: I can't say I liked the acronym ASS for the new "faction". :P

mind if im ask something ?

i have no problem playing 2.7.1 and several mods and script, but after i patch to 3.0 then it wont run again.

After Egosoft logo (at the starting of the game) then it CTD, is there some collition between my script or mods with the patch ?

Possibly.
Just reinstall TC
Add the latest update (all inclusive from first version)

Then make an additional installation for your mods and scripts to run on.
Test them one at a time.

It is always best to have a number of installations that allow you to play different selections of mods etc.
On my last rig I had a different "user account" for each mod and version I played.
