X3: Terran Conflict Hotfix 2.7.1 now Available!
While Update 2.7 was very well received by our gaming community, a small bug causing one of the plots to stall (Operation Final Fury) was noted by a number of users. We have fixed that particular issue and took the opportunity to sort out a couple of others too. We hope that this small issue hasn't spoiled your enjoyment of the game. We're very pleased then to be able to offer this hotfix, version 2.7.1, to address that and some other issues.

I have X3TC on steam and I just applied the hotfix and it worked fine. I read your other posts and it seems their is something going on with your steam client.
Oh and thank you Egosoft for your hard work! I loved it when the first thing I saw when I started the game was, "Warrior return to military command!"

And only on your computer too, it seems. How do you think Steam/Egosoft managed to do that?Rilder wrote:That only screws up with X3:TC? Thanks again, Egosoft.

The IP Range for your account has changed. The actual Login took place from 86.161.x.x, the previous from 86.163.x.x. If you didn't log on from another location, then may be an aggressor has used your account without authorisation!
I haven't logged in from anywhere else and my son swears blind he hasn't done so either. (He has a secure wireless connection in his room.)
Anything to worry about?
EDIT: If someone has used my account, they didn't post anything.

This really belongs in off-topic, perhaps.
If you click on Login Security in the right-hand navigation bar under Control Panel then you will see a log of the last ten IPAs your account was used from. If one entry stands out, then maybe somebody did log in to your account - in which case, change your password. If there is a consitant change of IPA part way through then that looks more like your ISP reassigned your IPA.
(Your son is liable to be logged as having the same IPA if he shares your internet connection.)
ISPs occasionally reassign your IP address, even with always-on Broadband accounts. Sometimes this happens if your connection goes down - the server assigns you a new IPA when you reconnect.Magnu wrote:On another note, after logging in to post this I recieved this message:

My new fave game (while waiting for Rebirth) - Kerbal Space Program
it didn't for me for patch 2.7 and 2.7.1.Rilder wrote:Why does steam have to delete the entire game and redownload it to apply a hot-fix?
However when I downloaded the medal of honour free weekend preload in advance, as soon as the weekend actually opened for play, i had to redownload it again - all several gigs.
I do reckon steam has a bug at the moment in terms of deciding when to redownload or not.
Anyway that's kind of OT, what I really wanted to post was a big thank you to egosoft for fixing these issues fairly quickly! I ran into the Hub and Final Fury bugs within 20 minutes of each other a week or two ago. Its pleasing that the bugfixing process operated rather quickly compared to much commercial software.
I would like to make a comparison between X3TC and Mass Effect. Whereas with mass effect I found several obvious bugs as I played the game that seemed to be well known in the forums, there were no patches released to correct these, and now Mass Effect 2 is out which I haven't bought on the basis that the bugfixing will be prioritised similarly to its predecessor.
On the other hand we have X3TC: I have found several bugs in X3TC - to be honest they were more game-breaking than most of those I found in Mass Effect - however the developers at Egosoft have put a patch out within a couple of weeks of their previous patch that fixes a few bugs that people were having. and there have been a lot more patches for x3tc than there were for mass effect.
Everyone knows that bugs occur in software, no matter how hard you try. But I appreciate the fact that egosoft continues to resolve issues even 1.5 years after the game was released.
This engenders loyalty.
This is why we love the guys at Egosoft. If only EA Games could take note. How many people there complain for ages and never get anywhere? Nearly all of them I think.
Here, it only takes one or two people to raise an issue and Egosoft do their very best to fix it ASAP. Well done guys! Thank you so very much once again.
Not only have you made a truly excellent game, you keep improving it and making it more fun, and you quickly fix those inevitable bugs that are so much a part of life with computers.
What can we say, except THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU!
Now I'm off to finish playing with the fix installed.
