A question to those who have already played with the new patch: how is script compatibility?
The ones I'm most interested in are MARS, Universe Explorers, NPC Bailing Addon.

BTW. is there a chance that the boarding "rules" can be changed back to 2.1-style with a script or mod (since I don't expect an update to the patch)?
Right now M6s carry marines only for decoration and it's completely retarded IMHO.

Great stuff.

The wife is out so I believe a session is in order.

I'll be more careful this time about checking the modified tag after the update.

As with every patch. 99.9 %.

So unless you have made some snide remarks about Jobu recently, there will be no problems.
My complete script download page. . . . . . I AM THE LAW!
There is no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Okay, the patch isn't working properly for me. I download it and it does finish faster than I would've expected so that might be the problem. I then installed it without incident. When I open up the splash screen it does indeed say that it's TC v2.5, but at the main menu it says it's still v2.0 and the marine training thing is still the same as back in v2.0

Ah! No DVD needed anymore, bulk training for marines. Thank you 1000x Egosoft.
I boarded my favourite victim, the Boreas in Aladna Hill, and noticed that the “Apologize to make escort friendly again” exploit is gone. A bit more realistic now.

Oh really? Damn. My plans for boarding another Tyr are doomed to failure then (you know the size of those things' escorts!)

According to Wikipedia Egosoft has just twenty employees, so I'm greatly impressed and endeared by your continued development; kudos.
Rebalanced boarding Xenon ships
What has been changed about this? I understand boarding has been made more difficult in general, but what is specific to the already difficult Xenon that it has its own changelog mention?

Try doing what I did and download the 1.x->2.5 patch (189MB) and apply that one. I never had any luck using the 2.1->2.5 patch. Seems some files are missing or something.

It'd be nice to have a more detailed changelog, which would list all the changes in detal, not just broad categories.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try downloading now. Will take a while due to a less than desirable connection speed

Hummm, I boarded a Q with 20 marines at level 100 in mech/engen/hack, 17 of them had 100 in fighting, the last 3 about 60-70 in fighting.
Result? Bloodbath as usual

So, does the patch fix the CFA and FBL, or are they still useless?

tbh Xenon boarding seems like its been made alot harder.. to the point its impossible.

20 - 5 star marines cant even get to deck 1 ( dead within 10 seconds ) on an Xenon Q with a triplex scanner installed and no other ship equipment. On 2.1 i always made it to deck 3 with the same marines on Q's with more equipment on board.

nope :P

gateless just means, any sector that doesn't have any gates, like Aldrin, or the Kha'ak sectors

these will now have thier own menu to jump to once u have discovered them
