I think its a great map too, tho i havent enough skills to actualy be able to utilise the ingame search thingy so i have to use it with standard alone, its all a bit confusing for me tbh. But i like the offline search function and appreciate a lot of great work done by the author.

I can only get the map to appear on the 2nd monitor by:
minimise then maximise via the task-bar icon ...
I`ve updated the program because of multimonitor. Try it now.

Still the same unfortunately, but looking more closely:
when the map is on 2nd monitor, in normal zoom (can see sector names):
when I double click on
Power Circle
this gives the sector info for
Shareholders Fortune
implying the mouse-coord is offset by one screen width (I'm using 1152 x 864)
Wouldn't it be easier to 'just' add a main-window drag-handle, then
it could be put anywhere ?

Thanks for looking at this, I appreciate your time & effort,
but don't go mad with this, it's just a wish-list thing :),
the map is great as it is.

Map

Post by Sirus5 » Thu, 4. Jan 07, 20:25

I think that Scorp's Map has made the grade enough to be included in the Sticky Thread at the top of the forum...

Please would one of the Mods see if this can be done...

Thanks

Great, the double-click on sector, when the map is on 2nd monitor, now work correctly.

(I think the initial switch to 2nd monitor still needs a forced re-draw)

thanks again :)

(well worth the sticky entry)

Update 2+

1) Multimonitor function now works correctly (Tnx Dave Toome for testing).
2) As you know, the program does nothing except of waiting in background while X3 is running. If X3 is NOT running, the map-program now slowly redraws itself in the background state. So you can drag different forms over the map and there will be no any erase-effect.
3) 2 script-files are updated (some mod-support improvement).
4) Alt+TAB now doesn`t call the search-window in addition to tasks switching.

Updates

Post by Sirus5 » Mon, 8. Jan 07, 01:04

Hi Scorp,

You really are getting prolific - so many updates in such a short time... Well done.

I do have a request - that you Edit the post on the first page adding a date and time updated and a version number as well...

Something like this

"Update - V2.00.1457 (22:18GMT Sunday 7th Jan 2007) Scorp"

I suggest also use GMT for the time zone as most people can work with GMT

The reasoning behind this is that now it's a sticky, many peopel can simply go to the "Ultimate Guide" find your map quickly and on the first page tell if they have the latest version or not.

Thanks

Sirus

Update 3

1) Mouse wheeling effect now depends on the cursor position. Using the mouse wheel over the main map will zoom the map in and out. Using the mouse wheel over the 3D sector-view will zoom the sector-view and so on. Dont use CTRL for zoom any more.
2) Decreasing zoom of the main map now works «from the cursor».
3) Button-catcher "Exactly" is added to the search of goods. If the button is raised (default) the search will be performed with patial names coincidence. If the button is lowered the search will be performed with full names coincidence. It is useful when you need to find "Nova" but not "Nova Vanguard", "Nova Sentinel" or "Nova Raider".
4) The X3_map.exe file now has the embedded program-version info in its properties.
5) Mod-support is improved.
6) Alt+TAB+TAB now doesn`t call the search-window in addition to tasks switching.
7) F1 and "Readme_X3_map.doc" are updated.

Versions

And with Version numbers on the front page...

A truly awesome achievement in the short space of time you have been developing.

Thanks Scorp

After i look your X3_path.reg file
i found that your Program is looking for the install_Dir in the wrong place

the registry stay in the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DeepSilver\X3 Reunion
rather then the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DeepSilver\X3 Reunion

and also the installer don't look for the program path of the old version of your program

Dont use old version. Use uninstall to delete it and install the latest one.
