Terran weapon blueprints
Periodically I get this message offering me Terran blueprints for sale. I have bought them but do not see anything back at the HQ. I wonder if I might have broken it myself as I saw this first when completing the last of the Bala Gi missions so my HQ was not built yet. Either way, I have bought them at least 5 or 6 times since and nothing shows. I've already tried an advanced search for Terran and blueprint(s) and turned up nothing useful unfortunately.

Unfortunately these do not allow you to build Terran ships. All they provide is data for your shipboard computer which enables it to recognise Terran weapons and ships - so if you manage to pick up a Terran missile it will be named, rather than "Unknown Object".
The BBS message predates v2.0.02. I'm not sure, but I don't remember that the word "blueprint" is used in the BBS message - wasn't it something like "data and schematics"? If the word "blueprint" was used then this is unfortunate.

First thank you all for replying. I think you were right softweir regarding the terminology. At first I suspected that the bit at the end of the message regarding this information being only available to high ranking members of the military had some bearing on me not getting anything. Then I thought, if that was the case why let me buy it in the first place so I then though of it as little more than fluff, like most BBS articles. Thanks for clearing it up.

There are at least 3 possible reasons for you to buy them:
- * Just because you want to.
* Because you loot stuff from Terrans frequently and you just want to know their real names.
* Because you just sold your soul to capture a Terran ship and you don't like to play dices on what fits where, because every gun and missile for that ship is listed as "Unknown Object"...

lets be real for a minute here. You wouldnt really need to know the name of the item. just use it once and you can figure it out. plus if its a terran weapon who would care? No matter what it is is going to be more kick "butt" than any other weapon in the game.

I certainly haven't captured a Terran ship so far -not that I've cared THAT much, TBH.
The reason I had bought the Terran specs in my old game was simply because I hate having things listed as "Unknown Objects (UOs)" in my ship's hold. Surely I'm in X3 long enough to know what each UO is, but I just can't help it. Since there is a way to directly identify them, I've used it, and I'll use it again.
PS: I'd swear I've seen Terran ships drop weapons too (besides missiles) in the past... or so I thought they were...
