Not a bad idea at all. :) I am working on it!

About the download problems, at filelodge they were expecting some new hardware in order to increase their storage capacity. Maybe they are upgrading ATM and thus there are some services/bandwidth down.

@Mobuj: Sure! :)

Thanks to all for your replies. Much appreciated!

Wish you a very good year everyone!

This map is ugly to look at compared to another one I have, but this one is printable and better to read on paper, I wonder if you could make a light-colored version to make it even more printer-friendly?

Good job anyway.

This is the first X3 map I've seen that I can easily read after printing to a single sheet of paper. This makes a handy "in game" reference8)

BTW The simpler version works best for me.

If you mean PDF (which I assume you do) the free Adobe Acrobat Reader is what you need.

Nicholas, I've tried putting pale colors to make the map less aggressive to the eye, what do you think?

Original
Pale

Of course these are only crappy .jpg's, but if you like the idea you can make a pale version too. :D

IMO printout would be more legible if all sector names were black text.

It's a little hard to read the white text used for pirate, boron, and xenon sectors.

Hi all,

At Marijn’s request, I updated the maps to visually differentiate between core and border sectors. Enjoy! :)

@McPa: I am limited by the 40 color palette that Excel offers for the background, and I am not inclined to invest more time to work on the colors to be honest... But please feel free to do it if you like. :)

@Freeholder: Tried it and looks really bad I am afraid...

Cheers

Good job.

If or when the plot missions are fixed and I stop sulking, this will be the map I use :)

Currently playing the brill Need For Speed: Most Wanted - a good way to sulk :D

Ευχαριστώ! :)

Since filelodge service has been proven troublesome, I have also uploaded the files to filefront. My original post has been edited to include those additional download links.

For the pleasure of the Italian community, RobyX kindly volunteered to translate the large map in Italian.
To download, please click on the Italian flag in my original post .

Following apricotslice's interest in having the maps as pictures, not PDFs, for his Apricot Mapping Service Guide to starting off in X3 project, I converted them to bmp, jpg, tiff and png files.

I case someone else finds them of iterest, they can be downloaded as a single rar file (3,14MB). For the download link, please visit my original post.

Cheers
