*bump*

Any news about the further work on this? The current picture is great, and much appreciated.

Suggestion: When making the picture for smaller ships, how about including that picture in this 'capital ships'-picture, framed, and in scale? Maybe even clickable. It would be a great reference of how the sizes differ from class to class. The samples of 'small' ships already included is a big help, but an overview of all ships within the same image would be great.

Long time no update

Pity as I was really enjoying watching the progress made and getting a feel for the dimensions of all these ships.

Funny thing about scale has anyone else noticed that the Argon Discoverer (m5) is actually larger then the Argon Buster (m4) :?

Agreed. Would love to see this project completed after all the initial hard work and initiative. Guess the original poster got a real nice X-mas present that took his mind off this...

Wow! Teladi and Boron cap ships are friggin huge! Argon cap ship designs somewhat do not represent human civilization realistically cause they're too curvy, IMO. Teladi cap ships look more human-built due to their bulky shapes and Teladi Phoenix started to grow on me! I want one!!!

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words on the project here. Sorry I havn't been able to update at all. Out in South Korea on assignment. Working military so security is tight, and had to leave the desktop at home.

Should be able to continue hopefully in about a month.

Where have you ever seen a human spaceship that looked more like a Teladi ship than an Argon ship? That's just silly.

Fantastic!

Those Borons make em Big. Makes one wonder if their males have an anatomy inadequacy issue?

Nice work scoochy, excellent pic.

Is it just me or do threads like these raise the question "why do egosoft never think to include cool things like this in their games?"

The more I see the great ideas from the community, the angrier I get with the devs lol

Give us an ingame database!

I think it cos they are filled with water, and water creatures usually use the water they're in to breed by dispersng sperm to impregnate females. That probabyl counts as rape unless a consenting Boron male and female shared the same water tight room. So they probably don't have penises, hence big ships as their anatomy doesn't put the fear of god in neighbouring wall latrine users.

Wow, this game has come a long way since this was made up over a year ago!

Wish I had the time to complete this, but new job included a bit more travel than first advertised. Things are settling down a bit, so I think it may be time to continue where it was left off. After I play around with all the fantastic new additions though.

That's awesome. I had no idea of the massive scale between ships. It seems so different when I'm flying around in my Buster. But when I saw an Orca fly around in Argon Prime today I could see it clearly from 50km away - that was a "holy shit" moment.

OK - given the fact I've been studying the cap ship sizes in 3DS Max for the purpose of building a new station big enough to internally dock a dozen Cap ships, I can tell you now you scale is quite out of whack for some of the ships.

Using an in-game distance and comparing screenshots is not as acurate as you might think. The target point which provides the 'distance' (which you are then using to try and judge scale) is taken either from the central point or the 'pivot point' ...still trying to work out exactly which. This makes it almost impossible to judge the TRUE distance btwn your ship and the facing edge of the ship your trying measure scale one.

The only way you can get an acurate size comparison of the ships is the capture the model sizes in a modelling application. I'll PM you all the size stats when I get done :)
