Anyone found the unknown sectors off of Maelstrom? Been searching for awhile, but no luck yet. If anyone has found them, please post a location. Thanks.

Ya there's a universe map, dunno if it's completely accurate, and a few topics covering these unknown sector's, i just scripted in a thing that tells me where all the gates in the sector are whenever I enter a sector hehe. That's my version of exploration.

well, if you ever get into Maelstrom, drop the coordinates off

go to the center of the sector ,head west .making sure you stay level on the z-Axis,i think its about 100+km west ,well off the map range but you'll find it im sure

So, how many unknown systems are there? Also anyone have any idea on how many more there could be? I dunno if Egosoft has dropped any hints.

Ive found 5 so far, dont know if anyone has found anymore?

Thanks euan78, found it, I take it the sector to the south of that one is way south as well?

According to the map, there are about 11 unknown sectors that have been found so far.

ive only found 9!!! 2 more to go!!

EDIT :- had a glance at the map, and theres only 9!

FYI, the unknown sector south of the unknown sector west of Maelstrom, is at -36, 0. -60 -- this is where the free nova is.

man... that one took forever to find...

i was about to give up... starting heading back toward the gate i came in from... and whadda u kno... it was right there.

piece of advice... don't spend too long in the second unknown sector, because if you have to fly back... there's a chance of a nasty surprise... and it's right in front of the gate (lost a harrier to it).

i don't actually know what triggers it... sending my ships throught remotely, or simply time... but after that event, i'm thinking that's what caused that same harrier to die on another occasion in another location (yes, i reloaded to retrieve the destroyed ship, even though it meant doing everything again).

so whats in the unknown sectors? Do they have stations? Pirate bases? tons of Khaak? Easter Eggs? All I know is that some have free ships.

In weekend i found this sector, claim the free Nova and go to sector Mealstrom. I read in the forum for the minefield and think it's rumor because me and the nova pass without problem.
But before dock in any station to save (not had a salvage insurance) i lost one ship from pirates and leload.
The second try to claim the nove before approach the gate i finally find the minefield (and Game Over) : evil:

hum... after another reload (kept screwing SOMETHING up, forcing me to reload)... then i come through, and i don't see the mine.

that was the first... and only time i ever saw a mine.... and the entire time i was searching for the gate, and i was wandering aimlessly for a while.
