Yup, nice patch... the only thing i don't like is that the merchants wont barter with you because of poor reputation.That's it Federation Guardian is bad reputation with the Argon. They used to barter with Federation Member before... Ahh

I'm sorry to hear this patch hasn't satisfied everyone, cos for me this has brought the game up to the standard I would usually expect out of the box.

Everythings working pretty well for me now, and I'm so pleased that the mouse has been optimised in the menus and that those annoying bugged tooltips have finally gone!!!!

WHAT HAPPENED TO X2 HUD ,X3 AS A HUD FULL OF YELLOW SQUARES, UNSITABLE OF A PROPER SPACE SIMULATION ,ONLY WHEN WE PUSH SHIFT-H THE THE GAME MENUS DISAPPEAR BUT THEN WE CANNOT SELECT SHIPS ,TALK TO OTHER SHIPS ,SELECT STATIONS.
AWFUL........
VERY BAD HUD
X2 WAS THE BEST EGOSOFT GAME EVER .
X2 HUD CAN BE CALLED A PROPER HUD

I get pinged back to the desktop occationally when reloading, other than that its solid as a rock :)

Just got my US copy yesterday.

I was pleasantly surprised that I seem to be one of the lucky ones with a
lower-end system that can run the game fairly well.
I'm running:
Windows XP pro sp1
Athalon Xp 2800
1024 MB PC-3200 dual channel
Gainward Geforce 5900XT ultra 128mb (factory OC @450mhz core 780mhz memory)
I havent used fraps as I don't see a need. It runs smooth with everything
on high in the less poulated systems. In heavy-combat with multiple ships
it takes a pretty good hit and I did have a lockup forcing a hard reboot
once in this scenario.
In the heavily populated systems it gets pretty slow, so I turned the shaders
down to low and this helped quite a bit. I get a pretty bad stutter the first time I fire a weapon and when a ship blows up. Overall, not too bad considering I was anticipationg a slideshow.

The only things I've found so far (8hrs) that I would consider bugs:

Every so often I get dropped back to the desktop when loading a save,
this has always been after I die.

I occasionally notice some seemingly random charachters showing up
in some of the menus.

My impressions after 8 hours of play:

-I love the new sector layouts.
-I don't really care for all the blue boxes targetting everything as it gets
confusing.
-I love the new sound effects.
-I think that the menus are a little too busy and transperancy makes them
hard to read.
-The strafe-drive is great now.
-The new missiles are actually useful now.
-I love the way you claim ships now as you don't have to worry about all
your new captures being destroyed by the guys you are still fighting.
-I love the fact that when a ship drops freight, they actually drop freight
insted of just mosquitos.
-The new weapons are awesome.
- I love some of the new ship models, notice I said some.

I haven't done much trading, so I can't really comment on that yet.
Don't get me wrong, there is still much room for improvement (come on 1.3 :) but it's definitely is not as bad as alot of people have made it out to be. At this point I'd give X3 a 7 out of 10.
When all the issues are fixed I'm sure that X3 will be the most fun I've had
with X since the mid-nineties.

Thanks for the patch it was nice to finish the plot but I’ve have the same 2 problems as post earlier by someone else.

(1) after the last mission my ship is down to 1% hull and shields. i don't really mind this as it just hurts my bank account.

(2) after the last mission I get attacked by Argon Nova's flying through the south jump gate in Argon Prime.
My standing with Argon is Federation Guardian and all the other Argon ships and stations don't attack me. if i defend myself the Argon police turn up and my standing with Argon drops.

Someone suggested that all you have to do is communicate with the attacking ships and stay sorry, for them to leave you alone. but they don't want to talk and tell you to fly into a black hole etc. it works on the Argon Police if they get involved but not on the aggressive Nova's. I've tried flying off into different systems but so far any Argon sector has the same problem.

Anyone got any ideas or am I doomed to be an Argon outcast till 1.3? (presuming this is a bug)

I found out that it's the same 5 or 6 Argon Nova's hunting me as I fly to different sectors. So I flew to a sector without any Argon police around killed the Nova's and that was the end of it. I lost 1 rank with Argon for having the audacity of defending myself.

No hero’s welcome after the last mission I guess…..I get the joy of spending my hard earned credits fixing a ship I left without a scratch and a loss in rank. No good dead goes unpunished :roll:

is there a ETA on 1.3 patch I don't want to rush the DEV's but I'm sure everyone would love to know...

and maybe list the fixes we will have in that patch too :?

My internet suffers from a 10 mb download limit because of a webmarshal. Does anyone feel like cutting down either the latest 1.2 patch or the upcoming 1.3 patch into 10 mb chunks?

I have to agree that my frame rates have jumped at least 15fps on average and I was getting good rates in the first place. (Must be one of the lucky ones I guess). I would still like to see removable elements from the HUD and nit just ON or OFF. Maybe in the 'next' patch?

I fixed my 1% hull problem by just scripting my hull back to full. I don't consider this cheating as it should be full anyway.

Does anyone know if there is meant to be a gate to Earth in Heretics End. I have a load of Earth ships flying around there with nothing to do, so I assume that there is something missing there?
