Pretty simple description here- all my resource probes in Avarice seem to be pushed by the tide into new positions. Was this behavior always intended? My experience with the tide was that it damaged ships and stations as it passed through, but not that deployables were pushed along the tide linearly without taking any damage. I don't have a non-beta save to compare, but I suspect this has something to do with physics perhaps intended for ships being applied to the probes as well, pushing them incredibly far from their initial locations.
Note that this behavior only seems to occur In-Sector during a tide. OOS probes seem unaffected, explaining why Avarice V still seems normal.
See the attached screenshots, where you can clearly see the probes 'moved' across the sectors, revealing fog of war on the way, and the linked save in case that's helpful.
To replicate, go to Avarice V, dock, and wait until a Tide occurs. You'll notice the map expands rapidly as the probes 'move' across the sector, however it takes quite some time for the game to relocate them on the map as it did in Avarice I/IV.

Re: [6.0 Beta 2] Tide moving resource probes
Apologies, since I can't edit my initial post- this effect doesn't appear to apply to lasertowers, satellites, or nav beacons- so far it's just been resource probes.

Although, letting the Tide push/destroy satellites, probes, etc could also mean this is considered a special area where these things simply don't work and the player has to find ways to work without them.... might be an interesting game play aspect as well. But I'm not sure if that would make miners completely ignore that area and instead go for areas that DO have probes, even if the yield is less. In that case, probes should be not affected.

I have observed similar phenomena in Avarice. And it can affect satellites, nav beacons and laser towers, it's just very inconsistent. But my experience is : the closer the player, the higher the chance that an object is affected by the Tide's push. Personally, I love the current Tide being able to push things around. The feeling when the Tide hits the player ship and drags it around feels violent and relentless, i love it. However, it should be limited to ships only, so it doesn't become too annoying having to re-place stuff all the time.XenoXenoson wrote: ↑Tue, 31.
