Best S & M ships

So far, it looks by looking at encyclopedia, after exploring the universe 1 day, it looks that the best purchasable ships have Paranids (of course)
S class figher - Pegasus Vanguard and M class frigate - Gorgon Vanguard..
of course there is Argon S class heavy fighter Eclipse Vanguard but it is slow by specs almost 50% in speed and acceleration compared to the Pegasus Vanguard, while it has 2x better shields..
What are your findings so far?
I just bought Pegasus Vanguard and it looks very nice Saving money and raising rep with Paranids to get Gorgon Vanguard asap.

From shipyards, I discovered so far Argon Wharfs (ANT, ARG), Teladi Wharfs (MIN & TEL) , Paranid Wharfs (HOP & PAR).
Any other Wharfs accessible to player? Does Argon HAT or Paranid ALI having Wharfs? Found Paranid ALI Shipyard, not wharf..

For S class ships:
Nodan for max speed, 900+ m/s but only 2 weapons.
Pulsar for max firepower, 6 weapons, if you configure them 3,3,... then you can fire continuously by circling through the configurations.

For M class ships;
Osprey for the best turret distribution, switch them all on attack and visit a Xenon system
Nemesis for max front (manual) weapons, disadvantage: no S dock.

I'm not sure how you get the Nodan but the Paranid Scout is pretty baller at over 500m/s.

Pulsar for max firepower, 6 weapons, if you configure them 3,3,... then you can fire continuously by circling through the configurations.

For M class ships;

That is correct, I found it later.. Pulsar Vanguard, sold by ARG Antigone Republic Wharf in Antigone Memorial, ugly slow and mighty

4 guns are cool, but the hull strength is rather worrying.
Eclipse Vanguard from Argon prime has 4 weapon slots as well but more than twice the hull

Pulsar has 6 weapon mount, but low hull, so it's kinda glass cannon.
I'm more keen on Eclipse - 4 weapon mount, great hull and shields and look badass.

Personally I like the Paranid Gorgon as it has a great mix of speed hull and firepower. It's an M class but flies like a heavy fighter or scout.

Trinity Sanctum VII as Euclid wrote few posts up, NW of the gate..
The interesting thing about that ALI Wharf is (unless it is standard in all wharfs and I haven't noticed it), that it gives me to modify the current ship with all faction modifications (Argon, Teladi, Paranid).
Also it sells S fighters from all races.. Argon, Teladi and Paranid

Correct, Nodan has not 900+ speed in my game also.
For now, Paranid Pegasus Vanguard is still the fastest S ship with 532m/s.

To correct you, Pulsar has 6 gun mounts..
But yeah, you are correct, Eclipse Vanguard looks like a better (maybe best) Heavy Fighter, it has twice the hull and twice the shields (2 shield generators), and 4 gun mounts...

Correct, Nodan has not 900+ speed in my game also.
For now, Paranid Pegasus Vanguard is still the fastest S ship with 532m/s.

Aye, it was re-balanced. Max speed is now Pegasus. Sorry for the confusion.

Where is the ALI Wharf I only found ALI Shipyards which only sell Mammoth/construction ship.
